I test positive on a PCR on Sunday night. Sent husband and son for pcrs yesterday. Husband's has come back positive over night and sons is negative. I feel uneasy sending son (15) to school even though the guidelines say it is fine. What would you do?

I'd be wanting to keep him off for the rest of the week, see if any symptoms develop. Can he do school work from home? I know that's not what the guidelines say though.. so that's not really helpful but I'm sure someone wiser will come along

I’d keep him off if you’re worried. His teachers would probably thank you.

Sorry you’ve got it. Hope it’s a mild course for you and your dh.

I had this exact situation with my child in September and was told by test and trace they didn't need to isolate so what we did was a daily lft so we knew he didn't have it but 3 days later he tested positive and then did 10 days isolation.

Thank you for the replies. He can do school work from home and I'd feel happier knowing he is here. I have a mild case, bit of a cough and no sense of smell. Husband is suffering worse as he has lung issues anyway, was due his booster next week.

If school are difficult about attendance just say he is feeling unwell.

FindingMeno · 23/11/2021 07:28

Send him in.
It's on BJ not you.
I'm so done with covid dilemmas when the government couldn't give a shit.
If that makes me a bad person I would just like to say I didn't vote for them and I'm fed up of feeling personally morally corrupt.

I understand the feeling but I'm not willing to reduce my personal standards just because Johnson has none.
FindingMeno · 23/11/2021 07:31

@rrhuth and I know really you're right, but I'm so very tired of it all.
The Cummings, and the Hancocks and all the double standards bullshit.

rrhuth · 23/11/2021 07:33

I totally identify @FindingMeno. It's hard not to stop testing!

FindingMeno · 23/11/2021 07:33

And I did send mine in under the same dilemma but it was quite clear that attendance were going to kick off if I didn't 🤷‍♀️

ColettesEarrings · 23/11/2021 07:35

At 15, in his GCSE year, I'd send him him. We had to do this the past fortnight when our 13yo tested positive. The rest of us have remained negative on daily lfts and 2x pcrs.

FrenchyQ · 26/11/2021 10:54

Glad I kept him off as he tested positive this morning.
