What's after the boosters vaccine?

Do you think we will have to have a vaccine every six months? Having read that the vaccine only works for about six months do you think the booster will only have protection for a short period of time?

I think there might be regular boosters. Certainly for those of us who are vulnerable. I'm not sure whether they will be six monthly or yearly.

My suspicion is that they will be yearly, perhaps alongside the flu vaccine, and tweaked now and then to include any newer variants.

I reading a bit up on this today and how third vaccines seem to be a lot more effective than they are being suggested. They aren't just a 'top up' by all accounts. Instead they seem to be essential part of the vaccine programme in completing vaccination.

Apparently early candidates who were part of trialling third doses seem to be retaining immunity in a way that second doses didn't.

I think we have to wait and see if this holds up fully, but there is a chance that immunity won't dip as quickly after a third dose as after the second.

Of course, this would be something that I don't think anyone dares to dream as it would be so ideal.

But yeah.

This wasn't what I was anticipating at all. It sounds too good to be true...

We shall see.

There will be regular boosters - no idea how often.

I'd take any booster available, hopefully alongside the flu vaccine in due course.
