Dh is tested positive on pcr. Rest of us were negative on pcr day after. We are keeping apart as much as possible but realistically he can’t totally isolate as house isn’t big enough and we only have one toilet/ bathroom. How often should be do lateral flows to check? We are out and about at work/school during week so Mixing

We did it every morning before we went out.

Every morning.

BugsyDrakeTableScape · 19/11/2021 18:26

Every day

Every other day and a PCR at the beginning and end of the isolation period of the positive person. All negative, including the lateral flows on the "positive" person throughout the isolation period who had no symptoms whatsoever and only did the the initial PCR due to high cases in school

Every day.

Didn't distance from "positive" dc either carried on as normal within the house which includes sharing a bedroom with another sibling

PingedPotato · 19/11/2021 18:30

Every day. Basically don't go out without having done one that day

Angel2702 · 20/11/2021 09:21

Every day. If we tested positive I would want to know when so the isolation wasn’t dragged out. If we were going out then definitely every day.

BunsyGirl · 20/11/2021 09:28

Every day. DS1 tested positive first in our house. It was actually two days after his symptoms started that he tested positive on a lateral flow and then a PCR. It also took a few days after our symptoms started before we got positive lateral flows. We were testing DS1 regularly before his symptoms started due to a large number of cases at his school.

Daily

me and ds currently have covid (tested as unwell)

DH and DD haven't had a single test - lft or pcr and neither will unless symptomatic. We shall isolate when unwell but im not looking for an illness that you have to test to know you even have it.

So your DH and DD will go to work / school without taking an LFT?

I don't test for fun but our school and my workplace, for those back in the office have a rule that if there is a household case of Covid daily LFT's have to be taken.

Do your DS and DD go to same school? My DD wouldn't be allowed to attend if her brother was positive, unless I provided daily negative tests.

yes there in same school. They cannot insist on tests given they are not mandatory in law. Schools cannot set their own rules. They can ask but they cannot force and schools have been told they cannot stop a child isolating just because they're a contact.

Same for workplaces. They can ask but they cannot mandate as gov advice is to recommend daily testing thats all. same way that contacts do not have to have a pcr just because theyre a contact.

Workplaces can set their own rules if they want to.

I’m not bothering with LFTs. DD tested positive last wednesday. Every LFT (twice daily) up to friday was negative. First LfT was positive on sat, 3 days after the PCR positive.

As a (very, sneezed and coughed on) close contact I am not going out at all and am going for a PCR every other day
