DC keeps getting false positive LFTs - why?

Third time now in the last 6 weeks that my 10yo has tested positive on LFTs but negative on PCRs. Why does this keep happening? I don't understand the science behind it.
I carried out the test myself every time so there's been no tampering or anything like that. Multiple LFTs show positive with a thick but slightly fainter line than the control line. We get a PCR and it's negative. Do LFT again and it's also negative.
Three times now with the same DC! Everyone else consistently negative. What on earth is going on?

My 15 year old is opposite. Had covid twice confirmed by positive PCRs but has only had negative LFTs.

Both times we only took the test as a precaution due to being a close contact. Last time she had it in Oct half term, we did daily LFTs to work out how long it would take to register…it didn’t Shock

Just shows how pointless LFTs are

Chances are they've had covid and it's worked it's way out of their system. I say this as our DS caught covid was asymptomatic on picked up on a ltr and then PCR but I noticed that the ltr flow tests got fainter as the 10 days has worn on

But she's had three positive LFTs over the space of 6 weeks, with negative LFTs I'm between?

Lft seems to be more accurate than previously thought to detect presence of the virus.

Positive lft doesn't always mean you are infected, you just happen to have the virus stuck in the place you swabbed, by being close to someone who actually has virus. If your body fend off the virus before being infected, then pcr should be negative.

Note, this is not a fact, just my opinion after reaing articles and people's comments.

Yes I've wondered that too. I'm starting to think she's immune as she's been a close contact so many times and never tested positive on a PCR or had symptoms.

I've had this with my ds twice first time tested positive on lft twice negative pcr but this time my dd was a confirmed case by pcr and ds starting testing positive on lft 2 days after and had 2 negative pcr in the space of a week but still testing positive on lft everyday. Now the line is getting fainter so I'm guessing he had it as my dd did and for whatever reason it didn't register on the pcr luckily I had him self isolate just incase. Don't understand it.
