No antibodies 5.5 months after second vaccine

Impart of a study and have had my blood tested for antibodies monthly for a while.
My last vaccine was in May (first in Feb). I had an antibody test a few days ago and I’m already negative. Thankfully I’m going to have a booster at the weekend.
Is it pretty common for the vaccine to wear off within a few months.

I won't pretend to be an expert but I thought even if you don't have active antibodies the vaccine hasn't necessarily worn off but you just haven't come into any contact with covid (or vaccine) recently to be making antibodies, but that your body still would/might if you encounter covid.

I think research has shown antibodies last around six months but it might be less for some. There are also other parts of the immune like t-cells so might not mean you have zero protection. I'm no expert though!

Are the antibody tests specifically looking for vaccine induced antibodies or infection induced antibodies? Just to be clear.

Vaccines work differently in different people. Some people may gain really good immunity for quite some time and some people might get less.

@shouldistop it looks like it’s test for antibodies that could be from either the vaccine or from having had covid.

@Severntrent I just read the results message again and it does state there could still be protection from T-cells.

Will be interesting to see the result from the blender antibody test as the booster I’ll have at the weekend should have taken affect.

Good illustration here of the waning immunity and effect of boosters

@shouldistop I don't know about the OP but most antibody tests are for either covid antibodies or vaccine antibodies. I do regular tests for Virus Watch study and get results for both types of antibodies.

Your immune system has memory cells that rapidly produce antibodies when infected my a pathogen it's met before, otherwise we'd be a bag of e er increasing antibodies ad infinitum
Get your booster as you'll get circulating antibodies but your body will react much sooner post vaccine or infection than if it's a new bug

I'd double check that as I think that's 2 different tests. As others have said, you may not have antibodies but still have memory cells

As custardbear said this does not mean you have no immunity, I investigated this years back when work were insisting I needed hep b booster. Your body is designed to create the necessary antibodies when you come into contact with the virus again, whatever that is. I read articles from BMJ and Lancet this week both stating there is as yet no scientific indication for boosters except for the immunosurpressed.
