Finally 16 and 17 year olds can have 2nd jab. Delighted.

Just need 12-15 year olds to be able to have 2 too

About time!! Began to think this was more about discouraging travel to Europe than any medical justification.

I’m also delighted. My 17 year old can get her second jab, and my 15 year old will be 16 early next year (so should be eligible once 12 weeks since his first jab have passed). Such a relief!

Great to hear.

I’ve not seen this. What’s the time interval between jabs for this age group please?

Really hoping this gets rolled out quickly to 12-15 year olds too. DS not 16 till June but has GCSEs so would like him as protected as possible to try to mitigate risk of being ill for exams.

Sadly doesn't help with travel so if you've got family in countries that double jab teens (ie everywhere else) then tough luck if you want to visit them - if you're under 16 there is no way to prove vaccine status to other countries which is something that enrages me.

How has it become ok for anyone aged 12-15 to be unable to travel to certain places? Some countries won't let them in full stop and others have prohibitive isolation rules (under 12 you're clearly not contagious and can travel freely and over 16 can prove their vaccines)

I read 12 weeks after 1st dose
Wakemeuuuup · 15/11/2021 10:39

Yes 12 week gap. My 16 year old had his over 13 weeks ago so the sooner the better.

Great news! They've had enough disruption so really happy about this news.
