Positive PCR, travelling in 3 weeks

My DH had a sore throat and mild cold symptoms for a week, LFT all were negative, he did PCR and the result came positive. We are due to travel in 3 weeks time and there is a high chance he will still test positive on the pre-flight PCR which is the requirement for our destination country. Both double vaccinated. The country of destination website states that you either provide negative PCR or a doctors note if you've recently recovered from covid and still test positive..
Does anyone have any experience in getting such doctor's note? I am note sure GP would even consider it.. Happy to pay private

After you have completed your 10 days isolation, you have a bar code on your nhs covid pass to say that you have had covid and recovered, look on the travel section, but you will only see it when you have completed the 10 day isolation.

@jenkel thank you so much, it sounds reassuring. Will GP be able to write some sort of letter to confirm that? The destination country requires a confirmation form a medical professional

I’m not sure, we are off to iceland after Christmas and I have spoke to travel agent and 119 and they both confirmed that proof of recovery of covid is enough and the nhs app bar code is the proof of recovery that I need

Yes, you can ask your GP for a letter, OP, though you will have to pay for it (usually around £25-30). Or you can go to a private GP and get one but that will cost a lot more (c£120). We have done both of these things in the past couple of months.

Incidentally, if your DH tests positive on a fit-to-fly PCR, the airline might refuse to allow him on the plane, they won't all accept a proof of recovery document in lieu – you should check this with the airline you are travelling with. HTH

We are flying with easyJet and all they want is what iceland asks for - a proof of recovery certificate.
