Children travelling abroad proof of Covid positive

Help! I’ve been round the houses with 119. We are travelling to Poland next week to my brothers wedding. Entry requirements for kids 12 and over are fully vaccinated (she’s only had 1) or ‘evidence’ of Covid positive in last 6 months. I called 119 last weekend; they said to get proxy access to medical records which we did. But it doesn’t show she had Covid. I have the email from NHS track and trace confirming this, it’s the same date range as mine and my 17yr old son’s Covid positive. I’ve been round the houses on 119 asking how I get it added to the GP record, given up for now. Will call the GP surgery at 2 when they re-open. Has anyone had to deal with this? If don’t meet those requirements have to isolate for 7 days. We are only going for 4 days!
Thanks

To add shes 13, so can’t get the Covid pass

What can the Polish authorities actually do though if she doesn’t self isolate? If she did actually have Covid you are not breaking the law. Or do you need to show something to eg attend the wedding venue? We had to do this for a family member’s wedding in Europe this summer.

Well I don’t know, I’m hoping we aren’t forced to isolate for 7 days given we are going for 4. I’d rather try and get the correct evidence but given they’ve just said ‘evidence’ it is not specific and given the U.K. won’t let under 16’s have them Covid pass it’s pretty impossible

Not sure re wedding venue - my brother hasn’t said we need to

Fully vaccinated for 12-18 year olds means one vaccine as that is the current schedule for that age group.

You can obtain proof of vaccination from your GP surgery.

Nope, to be considered fully vaccinated by other countries you have to have had two jabs. There is no way to evidence this for children, not even those who have had two jabs for medical reasons.

There is also no way to evidence a recent infection for a child. Sorry, OP.

There are companies on the web who will give you a certificate of covid recovery, you just send them the PCR test result email (is that what you mean when you say track and trace email?) and they then issue a certificate. However, their websites are full of disclaimers about it being your responsibility to check the certificate will be accepted, and no guarantee that it will, and it is quite expensive. Example here - many more www.medicspot.co.uk/recovery-certificate

Hongkonggal · 12/11/2021 20:00

I'm sure you have, but have you checked in the right bit of the NHS linked profiles? I can see all my children's PCR results, negative and positive. They appeared very soon after we received the results. I can also see their Covid vaccinations. Still won't be accepted by some countries though...

Oh my goodness, so many people commenting with no knowledge! We’re in a similar position OP but we travel in December to USA. Children have to be double vaccinated (which uk dc aren’t), pcr before travel and after 3 days of proof of infection/recovery from covid 19. My research seems to suggest I have to get a doctors note but this feels like a massive waste of time for the gp and I assume there’s a cost but no idea what. It’s so vague it’s frustrating. I hope the text would be enough but no one will confirm!

Tatum1234 · 12/11/2021 20:15

We found it impossible sorry Op. We tried to sort it for my son’s trip to Italy but couldn’t do it. It’s very poor that children can’t access a Covid pass on the NHS app.

I think you can do Lateral Flow tests for the US? Doesn't have to be a PCR. Vaccinated adults have to test as well.

And yes, UK kids who've had 1 vaccine are not counted as fully vaccinated anywhere else! One of my DCs is double vaccinated and I still can't 'prove' they are other than via my NHS app.

Bb14 · 12/11/2021 21:03

In a similar position for travel to Germany for a wedding. I've decided to travel alone and leave my children with my husband as children under 12 have to isolate for 5 days. Even if my children were old enough for a vaccine the one dose is not recognised in Germany.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 12/11/2021 23:43

@Hongkonggal we’ve been told lateral flows are fine but have to be observed by video - by who I don’t know and whether our lfd meet the spec in USA is also unclear.

BunsyGirl · 13/11/2021 06:49

@NeedAHoliday2021 Lots of testing companies do supervised lateral flow tests. E.G. Qured, Breath Assured, DAM Health, Doc HQ, Boots (in some stores)…

If you’re close to an airport many do Rapid antigen on site. We’ve used Randox previously for PCR but they also do lateral flow.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 13/11/2021 11:01

@BunsyGirl I’m okay with the U.K. side pre travel but the USA side on day 3 is a mystery and dd has just had covid. She’ll be fine by travel but no clue what proves that.

Darbs76 · 13/11/2021 13:26

My brother went yesterday to Poland and his wife to be asked the immigration officer who said the email to proof she had Covid will be ok, but guess depends who you get. I can’t see how they be fussy about the evidence when they don’t say what evidence.

For the poster who said am I looking in right part of linked profile - I can’t see it anywhere. I don’t know if I can get a letter from the GP, a friend asked for one for travel but they said no. 1 vaccine is not classed as fully vaccinated unfortunately, I’ve checked that. It’s such a pain

BunsyGirl · 13/11/2021 14:58

@NeedAHoliday2021 you won’t need to prove it. A negative lateral flow will be fine.
My DS has just had Covid and he was negative on a lateral flow by day 9. You can use the UK video supervised tests for the day 3-5 tests in the US. You buy them before you go and arrange an appointment for first thing in a morning to take account of the time difference.
