Anyone concerned/watching the news more carefully than they would have done pre 2020?

Nope.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 08/11/2021 20:40

No

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 08/11/2021 20:42

No, because I don't keep poultry or other birds (vaguely aware restrictions came in to force)

There is no sign of zoonosis

Lesina · 08/11/2021 20:42

Not at all. I have been watching flight radar and loving all the transatlantic passenger flights :)

Im not sure if its the same as happened earlier in yr when pultry had to be kept in.

But if so although it can pass directly from infected bird to human it doesnt transmit human to human. If so unless you keep birds/poultry the risk is extremely low.

I’m assuming that when I need to think about this, I’m not going to miss it.

There’s a great podcast series called “The Jump”. That’s got one on bird flu.

I'm only concerned because I keep chickens so I need to follow all the guidelines when they get brought in. Basic health precautions are all that are necessary to protect yourself when dealing with small scale poultry, unless you're in an intensive farming system where the risks are a lot more concentrated. Even then, there are no reports whatsoever of human to human transmission.
