Blood thinner injection whilst 21+3 with Covid?!

Has anyone else been advised that they need to inject themselves for 10 days? I have got Covid and feel a bit achey, feverish, bad cough, no taste. Apparently I need to do the injections as I am pregnant and at higher risk of blood clots. I’m reading conflicting information on the net about the reliability of these jabs…. I also don’t know anyone else who has been recommended to do this?

I injected myself with blood thinners the whole time I was pregnant - from the day I missed my period to 6 days after she was born.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'reliability'. Is it fragmin? clexane? I've used both and been fine - not had any blood clots while on them, nor had a miscarriage (prevention of which was the reason why I was on blood thinners in the first place).

I’m prone to blood clots and I’ve been injecting clexane my whole pregnancy. So far so good.

Do what the drs say - you definitely shouldn’t risk it.

Sorry just to clarify that I’m not at risk of blood clots. They are stating that anyone who is pregnant with Covid is? Have spoken to a few other friends who have had Covid whilst pregnant and they weren’t advised to take the jabs?

Well, you are at risk of blood clots. The specific risk with pregnancy is blood clots related to the placenta, resulting in miscarriage. Just inject yourself for the 2 weeks you have covid, it's really straightforward, really low risk and is what your doctor has told you to do.

In terms of level of risk - I inject myself with clexane for any flight longer than 90 minutes, if I'm going to be sat down at say a conference all day etc. It's not an issue. I have covid now, and if I had any clexane or fragmin in the house, I'd be injecting myself once a day as a preventative measure.

Covid and pregnancy are both risk factors for clots.

Op, you are at risk of blood clots. That’s why the drs have recommended them. Covid is well known to cause blood clots and so is pregnancy so the two together puts you at risk.
The blood clots related to the vaccine are much much rarer therefore vaccinated pregnant women don’t need to take them.

I had a venous thrombosis whilst pregnant and my consultant said that every pregnant woman is at risk of blood clots because the blood naturally thickens to lessen blood loss during labour and delivery.
Definitely take your medication op. You seriously don't want to go through what I went through as I had a stroke and 20 years later I still have weakness on my left side.

I was hospitalised with covid and all the covid patients were given daily blood thinner injections. Covid causes blood clots which are dangerous to anyone but more so to pregnant women.
