Currently my teen has covid, lateral flowed tuesday pm, pcr wednesday am confimred positive.
My two other children and I are all lf negative, everyday so far, no symptoms and pcrs sent off today. Teen has been isolated in her room since positive lf and is masking anytime in the bathroom, antibacing when finished, along with me cleaning it daily, and all windows open in the house.
It is their weekend to go to their dads house, now obvioulsy I'm not sending covid positive child - but he doesnt want the other 2. How is it fair he can say then when they have to continue going to school?

Is he trying hard to avoid getting covid in other areas of his life? If so, fair enough. If he doesn't really care but is just trying to get out of having his kids not fair enough. Or maybe some middle ground?

So not enough info yet really.

I think that's understandable. I also understand your view. I wouldn't be comfortable sending my kids to school but that's a must do. All other things would be off.

Don't blame him

Possibly worried that the other children are positive just hasn't showed up yet on tests

It's Covid and it's rubbish Perhaps ask him if he would like to see the children on a different day once the isolation period is over ?

Not everything may be sinister and him trying to get out of childcare if that was the case he could just say he had Covid

I don’t think he is unreasonable. No point in you all catching it.

pinkpixie83 · 05/11/2021 12:18

He's been living his life as normal, as far as I'm aware.

Don't get me wrong I can see both sides, and yes he's protecting himself and the family he lives with.
But how do I explain to the children, oh its ok while your negative you can go to school, but unfortunately can't go to your dad's this weekend.

I guess selfishly I'm also aware it means if I do test positive, he's going to be no help, and I will have to manage ill and on my own with three children.

Tell them it’s the law they go to school because their learning is so important, but it’s not sensible to spread it to anyone else. In only a week(?) they can go againz
