Positive PCR tests for travel despite having no symptoms?

I may have to get a PCR test for travel this weekend despite being double jabbed because an error on my NHS app shows only one of the two vaccines I have had (albeit vaccine 2 of 2, which is obviously better than it saying 1 of 2) and my useless GP has still not updated my record after numerous urgent phone calls and emails about it all week

Am paranoid that my test will be positive which will prevent the whole family from travelling, even though I have no symptoms. I have a DC in nursery and have been going about my usual business these last few weeks, and am pregnant so more susceptible to viruses.

Have others felt fine, gone to have a private PCR for travel and then found that they have tested positive? I am just a nervous wreck now and can’t sleep

@hashbrownsandwich

Your 'useless GP' isn't a travel agent, they are likely helping be people who are genuinely unwell!

@SarahBop very interesting I did not realise this - what a minefield and potentially many ruined long awaited travel plans. I really hope this doesn’t go on for too much longer.

Driving

I feel ur pain I had this with dh for 3 weeks

3/4 times I went back to testing site - gp dismissed me loads too - honestly I was fuming. I put in several online complaints too - in the end I’d complained to so many people I don’t know who actually fixed it in the end!

Nhs online can’t help as paper forms are linked to your nhs record so if vaccine isn’t updated you simply can’t get app or paper record

That’s why nhs staff have been instructed they must update information as soon as pointed out - the information is now being used for a whole range of activities - not just travel.

They only need the 2/2

They looked at both of mine for travel

Certainly wouldn’t rely on them only looking at the second

I’ve travelled 3x this summer and most have the paper version as the app is unreliable (lots refused boarding last week as it went down)

Paper version has no expiry either

Thanks everyone - just to update that I tested negative on my PCR test and was able to travel but it cost me a lot more overall. The NHS did fix the mistake half way through the holiday so I don’t automatically have to quarantine on my return but it was all a lot of expense and palaver.
