Positive parents but negative child

Really, as the title says, my partner and I have both tested positive for Covid after a PCR Test, but our 10 year old has not. I feel absolutely fine at the moment but my partner is quite unwell. I am aware that my son SHOULD return to school on Monday after half term but to be honest, I would rather keep him at home. I know that we could get someone to pick him up, but that in itself makes me feel like we are putting other families at risk and we shouldn't be leaving the house to take him ourselves.
I don't want him to be marked down as having an unauthorised absence - are schools being sympathetic to this at the moment? I am sure they would rather he wasn't there as there is a chance he could develop symptoms and catch it, but the rules are that he should attend. Being very honest, as I'm sure every parent will understand, it is very difficult to limit contact with him in our house as there are only the three of us and I can't leave him to fend for himself and just isolate in my bedroom (and nor would I want to as he knows we have Covid and is anxious, despite our reassurances.
Any advice gratefully received, TIA.

My school would be very supportive of you keeping him at home, we've had children kept off where both parents had covid and they then had no way of bringing the child to school. We provided so home learning to do.
You may have actually caught it from him - possibly asymptomatic?

To add, it would probably be unauthorised absence but to be honest that doesn't mean much (in my area anyway). Nothing will happen because of it.

Thanks so much for your reply - we've emailed school and received a reply saying they understand and will provide online work for him so we're definitely not going to send him.

Same experience here - school were fine about it. DS also didn’t come down with Covid at all despite us not really being able to distance at home.

Thank you, that's really good to hear! Hoping we have the same experience.
