Only 1 of 2 vaccines showing on covid pass for international travel on NHS app

Drivingslowtosavefuel · 26/10/2021 19:25

When I download my covid-19 pass for international travel from the NHS aoo, it is only showing me vaccine 2 of 2. It does not show me 1 of 2. (When my partner downloads his, it shows him each vaccine separately). I am concerned that mine won't be valid for travel, with only one vaccine showing.

I had two doses of AstraZeneca, as follows:

Batch no. 4120Z001 (13/3/21)
Bath no. PV46678 (30/6/21)

The first batch was that supposedly unregistered batch which some countries are refusing, and I am wondering if that is why it is not showing?

Grateful for any tips from anyone who has had the same problem, particularly if you had the same batch, and how you got around it?

I imagine I'm going to have to get a last minute negative test before I fly as back up?

Obviously that should say NHS app, not aoo (really need an edit button, @Mumsnet!)

We are currently abroad. It’s the second vaccine they are interested in. They only want to scan the 2/2 QR code.

Wellbythebloodyhell · 26/10/2021 20:33

It means wherever you had your 1st vaccine has not logged your vaccine correctly. They should be able to amend your records accordingly and the app updates over night. Its the vaccination site that's needs to do this not the GP practice

amylou8 · 26/10/2021 20:53

I had to scan both of the QR codes for the UKs passenger locator form coming back from abroad. I'd definitely query it before you go.

Drivingslowtosavefuel · 26/10/2021 20:54

This is reassuring @flipflump thank you!

Thanks @Wellbythebloodyhell I'll contact the vaccination centre first thing tomorrow to see if they can sort this out for me!

Thanks so much!

The vaccination centre won't be able to help but 119 were really helpful when I had a different issue with my pass.

Cookerhood · 26/10/2021 21:25

The vaccine centre should help you. The information about scanning both codes is incorrect, it will only accept the second one. I did it last week & it was a bit of a problem as if you print the bar codes on paper it has both side by side & the app will only accept one. If it says 2 of 2 you will be fine, but it does need sorting out

Drivingslowtosavefuel · 26/10/2021 22:43

@amylou8 I mind less about being stuck in sunnier climes not being able to get back to the Uk than not making it to the sunshine in the first place 😜

@BlowDryRat I got through to 119 tonight and they said I need to call my GP tomorrow and get them to update my record with the missing first vaccine, and it should then take 24 hours to update my NHS app. My GP are generally not very helpful so am crossing my fingers they are willing to help

@Cookerhood will try the vaccination centre tomorrow in addition to my GP as I have a feeling they will be more helpful than my usually useless GP.
What do you mean about printing it with the 2 codes on is an issue? I was thinking that printing it was safest in case the NHS app fails at the critical moment or I forget my password or something? Is there a way to print it that might help e.g. single sided or double sided? Thanks

OP posts:
Cookerhood · 26/10/2021 22:53

If it's printed the two side by side are fine. You don't have to upload it. Sorry, I was complicating the matter slightly.
The GP will say they don't have the information. You need to take the card with the date & the batch on it back to the vaccine centre. They should be able to correct it for you - if they look back to the date in incomplete record should be there (I've done this several times, but it has to be at the same place or they can't see the incomplete record). It's not the asy but it is possible.

Cookerhood · 26/10/2021 22:53

easy

Drivingslowtosavefuel · 27/10/2021 15:38

Thanks @Cookerhood
The GP said they would update it for me today - I was called for vaccination via the GP hub originally so maybe that’s why they think they can help. The jab was done just across the road from the GP at a little local hospital - so it will be easy to go and bug either or both of them in person tomorrow if the change isn’t showing on my app by then. I still have my vaccine card with batches and date etc.

Predictably my GP has been useless and clearly not updated my records as my covid pass is still only showing 1 vaccine.
Now I am torn between getting a possibly unnecessary PCR test (expensive, inconvenient and most worryingly it could actually be positive and prevent the whole family from travelling - I have no symptoms but I am hearing people test positive all the time with no symptoms, and I am pregnant so probably more susceptible to the virus) and just winging it and turning up at the airport and just showing the barcode for vaccine 2 of 2 and praying they don’t ask to see the barcode for vaccine 1! Feels like a massively risky gamble either way

It does update over night so it may appear today. I still think the vaccine centre might be able to help you more.
In practice I suspect having a bar code saying 2 of 2 will be fine, but it's too risky really.

Drivingslowtosavefuel · 29/10/2021 16:17

@cookerhood the vaccine centre were even less helpful than the GP, and basically told me to email the GP.
I did the right thing in getting a last minute covid test (which thankfully came out negative) as my covid app is still showing only 1 vaccine after 3 days of calls and emails to the GP, who kept assuring me it would be done, and it kept not being done.
So now I can fly with confidence that if the covid pass doesn't get me through, I have a fit to fly certificate.
Definitely won't be attempting international travel again any time soon after all this palaver!
Thanks for all your help!

The vaccine centre could do it, but you have to know how, and it's easist to say they can't!
Basically you can go back to any given date & look at the records - what usually happens when it goes wrong is that someone has partially saved it by mistake, or mis-typed smething so they couldn't find you on the system. I spent ages looking for someone once - I found one of their records and then spent a long time looking for the second one, until they told nme it was at a different centre- you can only look back at ones at the same centre.
Glad you got something sorted. Maybe go in again when they are really quiet and try again. You just need to connect with the right person!

Ducksareruiningmypatio · 29/10/2021 16:53

I had to bug the practice manager at my GP Surgery.
119 said that it was their responsibility. The receptionist denied this. I had already asked 119 how to.proceed when they refuse to help (as I was so sure they would try and fob me off Grin )
I'm afraid it took weeks and repeated emails.
Hopefully your gp receptionist isn't a nasty cow like mine.
Go broken record on them until they sort it.
I was spoken to like absolute shit when I asked about it Angry "Well we can't just update it, it's your word only!" Hmm I'd sent proof...

Drivingslowtosavefuel · 15/11/2021 17:44

Thanks everyone - just to update that I tested negative on my PCR test and was able to travel but it cost me a lot more overall. The NHS did fix the mistake half way through the holiday so I don’t automatically have to quarantine on my return but it was all a lot of expense and palaver.
