Is there a bright side?

I've been bombarded with covid on all sides this week, so if I don't go down with it (double jabbed but haven't had it yet) any day now I'll eat my hat! It's pretty dismal to think about, so I'm trying to look for any bright sides to it! All I can think of are:

It might kick start me into losing a few pounds - I'm a couple of stone overweight but haven't been motivated to tackle it

If I'm out of action for a while it'll make me feel better about my job applications getting nowhere, as I won't be able to work anyway!

If I have it now my immune system will be able to cope with it better (hopefully, in theory!) in future when it might be an even more inconvenient time to contract it

Were there any plus points for you?

Better to have it now then when flu/respiratory disease season kicks in.

No testing for 90 days!!

AlexaShutUp · 25/10/2021 21:20

I've had it recently. Quite glad to have it out of the way for the time being!

userxx · 25/10/2021 21:49

I'm glad I've got it out of the way, I'm going to have fun this Christmas.

Yellow85 · 25/10/2021 21:52

We’ve just had it, I’m going to be so much more relaxed on the run up to Christmas!!

FindingMeno · 25/10/2021 22:00

I'm glad I shouldn't catch it again for a while, and when isolating and feeling better I caught up with some nagging jobs round the house.
I feel safer so be nearer more vulnerable family members for a while.

WitchyNameChange · 25/10/2021 22:04

We all had it in January/February and I've felt far more relaxed about it all since then.

However, everyone but me now has this horrible not-covid flu thing and they're more poorly with this than they were with coronavirus! If I don't end up with it next it'll be a miracle!

AtlanticCityProof · 25/10/2021 22:20

Yes, I’m more relaxed since having it but it was very stressful at the time.

BluebellsGreenbells · 25/10/2021 23:07

I can feel comfortable in larger crowds and getting the train to see family.

I was more worried about catching it and spreading it than actually having it myself.

That worry has now gone .

Angel2702 · 26/10/2021 17:32

We have covid in the house and if we all get it at least we won’t have to worry about missing Christmas activities having lost out on hundreds of pounds of half term we’d booked.

Brickskithouse · 26/10/2021 17:46

I think the main benefit is when you’re through it you can stop worrying about if/ when you might succumb and you realise what a mental burden it was beforehand.

Bobholll · 26/10/2021 18:29

I’m glad to have had it before Christmas! Can go enjoy Christmas parties etc without worrying I’ll ruin seeing family! But sadly no-one else in my house caught it so they could still ruin it 😩😂

I’m also quite glad to know my body dealt with it just fine. I figured it would but nice to know! And I also enjoyed a break from doing the school run 😂

@Angel2702

“We have covid in the house and if we all get it at least we won’t have to worry about missing Christmas activities having lost out on hundreds of pounds of half term we’d booked.”

Bad luck there!
Merry Christmas
