How about we push for a new law for MP's and their families that bans them from accessing private health care so that all their needs must be met by the NHS. Do you think this might change their opinion of "sustainable pressure" ??

I do understand what you're saying but her care problems are caused by her mental health. She's not choosing to be ill, her brain is ill.
Anyway, that's by the by, the term healthcare covers social care that's necessary to keep people with disabilities healthy, so by the ops proposal, my mum, if a family member of an mp, wouldn't be entitled to use private or state care.

I'm sorry @madisonbridges Flowers That's a very difficult situation to deal with.

i do wish you'd read my posts properly madison bridges and not put your own version of what I have said ,it was about MP's having to rely on state healthcare and not having the option to resort to private, as i think this leads to a lack of appreciation as to what the majority of the population have to experience. Why on earth would I think they shouldn't receive healthcare full stop ??!! I have also previously worked in mental health care myself and seeing the ill health and suicides that result when people aren't supported effectively ,i personally think its "immoral and unethical" ( your words) that people receive such poorly funded health and social care. I really don't get where you are coming from .

ha i've done exactly what i complained about and mixed up part of what you said with another poster so apologies madisonbridges, mea culpa, pressed too soon. I also have a mum who receives psychiatric care and I am passionate that people should receive a decent service, this is what my whole post was intended to discuss, part of that includes an integrated health and social care service so people are supported to live their lives fully and with dignity no matter what their disability ....it's not about preserving rich peoples right to pass their wealth down the generations(which was what the most recent government reform of social care was about) whilst others can't even afford to rent a home or eat properly.
