Sneezing a bit at the end of isolation period - what to do?

I'm coming towards the end of my period of isolation. I've been lucky to have a mild go of it - occasional sneezing and stuffy nose, very tired a lot of the time, dizzy/ears ringing at times, mild headaches and a slight cough. Every so often feel very slightly breathless but sats are fine.

Every time Test and Trace call me, they've reminded me of the date of my last day of isolation and said if I have certain symptoms after that time, I need to continue to isolate and seek medical advice on what to do ... was told this applies to fever, vomiting or diarrhoea (none of which I've had or have now) and NOT to a continued cough because that can last weeks (or lack of smell), but one of the Tracers also said 'sneezing/runny nose' too. Well yes, I'm still sneezing. Confused

Is this something others have been told by Test and Trace calls? I'm not sneezing round the clock, just the odd one. After day 10 (11 in fact) am I really going to have to ring my GP and ask if my sneezes mean I'm still actively transmitting virus??

If you feel fine in yourself, you should be fine coming out of isolation. Your GP won’t give you anything for sneezing unless you are sneezing up green/yellow mucus, which could be an infection.

I was sneezing at the end, I was told by T&T to do an LFT. If it was negative it would be unlikely that I was infectious and could go out as usual. However, out GP had advised that we waited until DH finished his isolation (2 days later) until we all went out anyway. The GP also advised that we wear masks for a few days afterwards (remember that they reduced the isolation from 14 to 10 days, as we were much less likely to be infectious? Not the same as no longer infectious!)

I had covid in the last month, so the T&T info is pretty up to date!

I caught Covid in August and the 3 Test and Trace callers I spoke to each said I couldn't end isolation if I had any of the following:

  • temperature
  • diarrhoea
  • vomiting
  • sneezing
  • runny nose

When I was sneezing with Covid I was sneezing a lot throughout the day though. It wasn't just 1 or 2 sneezes a day, it was several an hour. If you're not hardcore sneezing I would just ask T&T for advice.
