Covid and hospital appointments

My stepdaughter has tested positive for Covid today, she’s been with us since last Friday. I have a hospital appointment tomorrow for an ultrasound on my neck, am I correct in saying I can no longer go to the appointment?

I would say it probably depends on the hospital policy... Call them first thing... And you probably should have had a pcr done for being a close contact? I will imagine they will cancel and rearrange if no negative pcr

No you can't. You need to book a PCR and isolate till it comes back.
I'm in Scotland but presume that's a UK wide thing

I thought that if you were doubly vaccinated and had no symptoms could carry on ?
Whether you should morally carry on is a different matter.

If you are double vaxxed +14 days and in England you legally don’t need to isolate.
It’s recommended that you get a PCR test.

However I would not be visiting a hospital if I was a close contact and they probably wouwant you to either.

The rules in scotland are different to England.

Hmm, still not sure whether I can go or not, I think I’m just looking for an excuse to get out of it as I really don’t want to go. Although obviously I really didn’t want my stepdaughter to get Covid either xx

I have a hospital appointment this week.
The letter says to rearrange and not attend if anyone in your household has symptoms of diagnosis of COVID.

Mackmama · 19/10/2021 14:04

Thanks everyone, I rang and was advised to rearrange the appointment x
