Timelines for Covid transmission in households

Just out of interest really... those who have had a case of Covid in the house, how long did it take for other members of the household to contract Covid (if at all)?

We are a family of 4.
DS tested positive on LFT 6 days ago, asymptomatic at that point.
He developed symptoms 4 days ago.
He got positive PCR result 3 days ago (PCR taken 5 days ago).
The rest of us are negative on daily LFTs so far and awaiting PCR results taken today.
DS is keeping mainly to his room since positive LFT, but I've been taking care of him and we all share a bathroom.

DS (12) tested positive, but neither DH nor I caught it. DS was completely asymptomatic the whole time.

Test and Trace didn't contact us at all, despite DS having a positive PCR and registered result on the covid app.
DH and I both carried on going into work, taking daily LFT and we both had 2 negative PCR tests as well.
🤷‍♀️

Me - felt ill last Sat. 3 days of twice a day LFT all negative. Test Tuesday - positive. PCR confirmed.

DH - did PCR Tuesday - positive (Lateral still negative the day after)

DS - did PCR Thu after all negative LFT - positive on PCR.

Both me and DH double jabbed. Both feel really rough.

Well, looks like I spoke too soon....
It’s 16 days since DS tested positive/got symptoms (his isolation ended 5 days ago) and DD woke feeling ill this morning (slight fever and was sick). This is her LFT :(
I feel it’s most likely she’s caught it from her brother. We’re in half term and have only done outdoor socialising this week. Guess we’ve been to a few shops, public loos and cafes for takeaways... Aaaaaargh.

DS10 symptoms and positive LFT Sunday (confirmed by PCR)

We're now on Saturday and neither my son DS14 or myself have any symptoms. All Tests negative.

Oh no :( it’s 14 days for us when only 1 out of 6 people in our house caught it and I was hoping if we get to that we’d all be okay but hearing your story concerns me. I have been feeling sick all day and dizzy on and off but they’re not symptoms of Covid so not sure if I’ve caught something else.

I hope your DD is feeling better soon and nobody else catches it x

Thanks @GypsyWanderer

It's 9 days since she was last in school and 5 days since DS finished isolation (probably at least a week since he had any symptoms). She's barely been indoors anywhere (except at home) since then but suppose she could have picked it up in the supermarket or queuing for a coffee with me... Just seems like such a long time to be incubating it!!

Ds2 first - symptoms Friday, DH symptoms Monday, Me symptomsTuesday evening and Ds1 today...

Noeuf · 30/10/2021 17:37

Never. There are six of us. I think I had it Feb 2020 - no one else was ill but this was pre tests. Then three more have tested positive at different times and none of the others have got it.

I read somewhere that you can catch it after 2 weeks but it’s rarer, like 1 in 100 chance
