2 member of household have tested positive, one with signs, one without.
3 negative also in house, one of these has signs, 2 don't. The positives and the symptomatic negative are isolating.
The other two negatives are allowed to go about their normal routine -work, college etc. Should they consider wfh/isolating to protect others despite their negative status or carry on as normal?
Difference of opinion going on here

If they can wfh then that's brilliant. I wouldn't sup then going to college or school though. They ought to think about minimising other non essential interactions too.

My DH had a positive on his work test so I've worked from home whilst we wait for confirmation via PCR

betterchangemynamequick · 17/10/2021 20:22

I should have clarified, these were all PCR tests
Yes all nonessential outings cancelled, it's the work/school/college aspect. Family members outside the home feel no one should go anywhere, we agree in theory but so much school and college has been missed already, it's difficult.

They will be expected to attend school / college. That’s the current guidance and what the government has decided is the ‘right’ thing. So what ever other people think that’s what’s expected by schools and colleges.

If WFH is possible, I think that's a no brainer. There were some posts on another thread about some local authorities having changed their policy to require students with positive household members to stay away, so worth checking with the college what the policy actually is. If student is required to attend, would make sense to wear a mask if permitted and do daily lateral flow tests in the hope that any infection will be picked up at the earliest possible moment. If student has any discretion over where he/she sits at college, should try to distance from others as far as possible.
