Siblings to isolate when PCR positive

We have been advised that PHE have requested dc to isolate when a sibling tests positive.
Just wondering how widespread this requirement is. We definitely have lots of cases in Secondary School.

Sis in law tested positive last week, her children have been told to come to school. One of her dc just tested positive. They are in secondary school so could make their way to school by themselves.

Well my dd is getting fuck all education right now as her teachers are ill. 2 out if 3 subjects have teachers off with COVID. No cover as 6th Form. I am glad they have reinstated this rule. Just too late.
Yep this is the issue. It’s all very well not worrying about children get it, but as soon as adults start getting hit, then we have a problem.

For many covid is like the flu so they’d be off work as a result. That plus flu circulating is a nightmare.

Our school introduced no sibilings of a positive case at school, as of today. Too late, frankly.

DS1 caught it middle of last week, shame that his vaccine was postponed as he would have had 2 weeks of immunity built up by the time he came across it. He's 12.

We were told DS2 (age 10) had to go to school, which he did for several days following DS1 positive test. DS2 is now positive, so I expect a lot of children in his class will be positive shortly.

A total shambles.

This appears be local guidance not national and makes sense.
Non isolating under 18 non vaccinated siblings never made sense.
