Tips for helping build back immunity and energy

Has anyone found anything they’d recommend to help boost my immune system and recharge me after Covid. I already take high dose of
Vitamin C and D and a multivitamin since I started commuting again after 18 months of WFH but still caught Covid. I usually go to the gym 3 times a week and want to get back my fitness, which was definitely affected temporarily by strong side effects from my first AZ vaccine. Any recommendations please? Thanks

I haven't had Covid but have had post viral fatigue and now take B12 and iron daily for energy.

I'm taking Immune defence from Boots. It has 24 micronutrients.
The other thing I've done is cut out alcohol (for the moment) , this really improves how I feel.

Can you start back gently at the gym and build back up slowly? Don’t think there are any short cuts or magic bullets.

.Metatone tonic.

Yes I definitely will do! I’m just hoping to help myself as much as possible so I don’t immediately succumb to other bugs if I can help it!

This might not suit everyone, but I’ve found not eating after dinner (ie no evening snacking) and having herbal tea only ( as body treats the milk in tea or coffee as food) has really helped my body feel more rested and rebalanced the next morning. I’m sure I read somewhere that giving your digestive system a break helps your body do essential repair work overnight and can boost the immune system.

@Jellyfishnchips that sounds like fasting which is gaining popularity for lots of reasons.

Brickskithouse · 16/10/2021 20:46

I took elderberry extract which was suggested by Dr Jenna Macchioci on instagram ( she's a well respected immunologist). Also spatone.

Yeah, I guess it’s a soft version of intermittent fasting which seems to list a lot of benefits including a boost to the immune system. Our dinner time varies a bit so don’t go by the clock just avoid snacking after the last meal and have my breakfast a bit later (9-10ish). Having been a nocturnal snacker before ( when DC and baby are finally in bed asleep!) I can just feel the difference now and much prefer it, have more energy in the daytime. On the nights I’ve not bothered and had a snack I feel v tired and sluggish in the mornings

Monolaurin is amazing stuff. I have chronic fatigue (caused by a bad virus about 6 years ago) and until I started taking it I used to get every bug going around, but about 100 times worse than everyone else. Been pretty much bulletproof ever since I started them and it has really helped my energy levels too. Like an idiot I slacked off on taking them over the summer and then got covid 😞. It’s a natural antiviral and immune system booster.

Vitamin b12

A pp mentioned fasting. I've been doing 18:6 for 6 weeks and I feel great. I'm not getting much sleep due to baby ds but I feel more energetic than I have in years (and I've lost over a stone which is great)

Thanks everyone. I need to order some bits or go shopping when I’m out of isolation. Thanks again.
