Are they ok to have on consecutive days does anyone know? I'm booked for a third primary dose (not a booster so will be a full Pfizer dose, already had 2 x AZ) and then my flu jab the next day

I imagine it would be fine as you can have both at the same time and that’s not a problem.

PurpleDaisies · 15/10/2021 00:13

Yes that’s not a problem. You could have them together.

NotMyCat · 15/10/2021 00:26

Ah that's good! I'm hoping for not too many side effects. Already moved my flu jab once and appointments are like hens teeth
With the pneumonia vaccine as well, I've had more vaccines this year than ever before Grin

You’ll be full up to the eyeballs of antibodies! It will be worth it.

Good luck. Flowers

I was told by the NHS:
If you have your flu jab first you must leave a week before your covid booster.
If you have your covid booster first you can have your flu jab straight after in your other arm Grin
I waited almost a fortnight between.

SecretKeeper1 · 15/10/2021 00:31

At our local vaccine centre they are doing covid boosters in one arm and flu jabs in the other arm, at the same appointment.

NotMyCat · 15/10/2021 00:36

I've got my flu jab first then covid one the next day (it's a third dose though so I'll be having a booster as well at some point) so 4 x total vaccines

I wonder why. The green book says you can give the vaccines at the same time with no specific gal needing to be observed. Was this recently? The advice has changed.

@PurpleDaisies
Yes a week or so ago.
But my appointment was already booked so hence the 13 day gap.
@NotMyCat
Am I reading it right
You ve had 3rd covid jab but that's not the booster ?

yikesanotherbooboo · 15/10/2021 07:39

We are giving both at the same time OR a week or more between. That was the advice given at the start of the campaign.
As far as 'third' dose is concerned it is for those who were thought to have very poor immune systems at the time of their original covid vaccines, eg certain blood conditions, on some biological medications etc.

Yes, I'm having my third one and then I will have a booster

Why do we need to keep a week between flu then booster?
I had my flu jab on Saturday and booster on Monday.

Sprostongreen21 · 15/10/2021 09:26

Hope so! I had both mine Wednesday morning. NHS staff have been told it’s fine. I’ve not had any major reactions and worked yesterday. Probably a bit of a sore arm and tired/headache but the wards been very busy so that could be that too. Arms are fine nearly 48 hours later.

I’ll admit I was hesitant but people I knew had both and were fine. So I did. I Also do know some have been off for 24 hours or so.

NotMyCat · 15/10/2021 10:21

@Sprostongreen21 oh that's good Smile I'm a little nervous only because I previously had AZ and wondering how Pfizer will be!

OP posts:
Sprostongreen21 · 15/10/2021 10:48

Everyone’s reactions are different are they. I’ve had very minor reactions to all of my Pfizer but know others that have definitely been ill for a day or two. But then I also know people that were sick from their AZ and moderna ones too. I think it’s more your own body reaction to vaccines.
Good luck!

PheasantsNest · 15/10/2021 17:05

Had mine on the same day. There's no advice to leave it a week.
