I'm on covid day 5 and lying in bed wide awake. There's a slight ache in my lower back so thinking of calling my gp in the morning. Has anyone experienced this?

Hello Bob. I have a negative covid test but I can tell you that for the last 5 days I have had massive lower back pain, neck pain, headaches like nothing on earth. My GP has now given me antibiotics as they feel I have something bacterial. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for sharing. I think I will call in the morning. Hope you start feeling better soon and manage some sleep.

I have similar, I have just finished isolation, but I had had a niggly back that was recovering prior to COVID and I think also being inactive/sleeping propped up hasn't helped. I have been doing some very gentle stretches the last couple of days to not be so stiff.

I had covid in August (was hospitalised). I did have lower back pain for about 10 days. But honestly, I'm not sure a slight ache in your lower back requires a doctor.

It could be just due to lack of mobility? Our backs need to be moved in lots of different directions each day. Lying for long periods of time (even if we need to rest) is really bad for it.

I’d try some gentle stretching first. Unless it’s a very severe pain.

It's probably because you've been lying in bed a lot.
