What's the guidance on kids and school at the moment?

I'm currently awaiting a PCR result. Am I right in thinking I'm supposed to keep my Dd(9) off school until I get the result? And if I'm positive, she has to self isolate?

Depends on the area. Some local authorities have put extra measures in place and household contacts must stay home.

Contact the school and check.

Nope If she's under 18 she doesn't need to isolate if her PCR is negative

If she's under 18.5 & has no symptoms then she did not have to self isolate. If you're double jabbed & have no symptoms then neither do you whilst awaiting a PCR result.
If you have Positive, then she (& any other household members or anyone you've spent more than 15 mins in close contact with in the 48 hours before you developed symptoms) will be advised to get a PCR but they don't have to unless they develop symptoms.

(I work as an Admin in a school so I have this conversation at least once with a parent every morning at the moment, plus I had C-19 in Sept.)

Your school or local authority may have added further restrictions on top of these rules .

Thanks all. I have mild symptoms but she doesn't have any so I guess she's ok to go to school tomorrow.

Depends where you live too In Scotland you all need to isolate at first while you take PCR tests and it's a negative PCR that releases you from isolation if double jabbed or under 18

Nope if she is under 18.5 she needs to be in school.
