Covid booster will be due sometime early Nov I think
Will they give me the flu jab or should I just book that for sometime in the next few weeks?

When I went for my COVID booster last week they asked me if I wanted my flu at the same time.

I think they are offering both at the same time (I had both yesterday but that was through work as an HCP so slightly different) but if you want the flu jab earlier you should be able to get it at a pharmacy.

Book your flu jab for asap, Nov is pretty late in the season tbh. I had mine last week.

I had my flu jab a couple of weeks ago - I had the option to have it with my third covid jab (as opposed to booster) but I'm not due that until early December. I wanted to get protected against flu asap.

Incidentally it's been much easier getting the flu jab this year - seems as if every branch of Boots is doing them and there are loads of appointments available. Much more convenient than fitting in a GP/nurse appointment (mine only offer them on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for some reason).

I had my flu jab on Monday - not heard anything about the booster yet.

I think centres are doing it differently. My Auntie had hers both together. My Mum and myself are eligible for covid vaccine now (the centre we're going to states no flu vaccines, and it'll be Pfizer). We both had our flu vaccines last week, so don't luckily don't need to worry.

NotMyJobToFixProblemsIMade · 07/10/2021 08:53

It depends on the vaccination centre.
In my town there are 2 centres - 1 is doing both vaccines at same time (if you want, not mandatory) and 1 is doing them separately.
You can go and get a flu vaccine now if you want. Then at least you have that protection in place.
But getting them together has been proven to be safe:

They're doing both together here if you're eligible. They've only just started on NHS / care workers and the over 70's though so I went and got my flu jab at the chemist to save waiting. I'm not entirely sure if i'll get a booster, the guidance seems to be vague but mine isn't due to January and I wanted my flu jab before then.
