Nausea help

Cruiser11 · 04/10/2021 12:00

I’m on day 9 of having COVID and I have really bad nausea symptoms. It’s a cross between morning sickness and travel sickness. I’ve emailed my GP for suggestions of any thing I can do/take to help.
Has anyone else had this and did they find anything that helped.
Thanks.

Would travel sickness bands help? Appreciate you may not have any in the cupboard. They helped with the nausea for my morning sickness (but sadly not the vomiting).

I’ve actually just put some on, I thought it’s worth a try.
Thank you.

Certain antihistamines stop you feeling sick. I can't remember the names though

Cant help on the Covid front specifically, but when I had morning sickness; and when I ongoingly suffer travel sickness, the following help me:

  • Coke (original, not diet)
  • eating carbs, little and often
  • making sure I don't get hungry
  • ensuring sufficiently hydrated
  • mints/chewing gum
  • sleep
  • fresh air

Wishing you better soon

You can get anti-nausea medication for migraines OTC. The ones I have are called Buccastem M (prochloreperazine is the generic name I believe)

I phoned 111 and they got my GP to phone me, she was lovely and had prescribed some anti sickness tablets. It’s vertigo coursed by COVID. I’m relieved it’s not anything more serious.

Anti-sickness over the counter - Buccastem. Works pretty well.

If it’s nausea associated with dizziness/vertigo - Sturgeron Travel Sickness Tablets. They also work pretty well. Could take both together if it’s really bad!

I had HG in both pregnancies & was on 3 different anti-sickness meds for most of the 9 months! 😩
