Ds tested positive on a lateral flow tues night. Positive on a pcr test on Wednesday. I did a test as he was slightly snuffly towards bedtime and loads in his class have had it or currently got it. They have had to close his class it's that bad!! After the snuffles tues night he woke up absolutely fine and has had no symptoms since. I'm guessing he's maybe asymptomatic??? If this is the case are me and dd less risk of catching it?? We both tested negative on pcr tests. She's going and staying at my partners house over the weekend to keep her away from her brother!!
Sorry if sound a bit thick. Been googling for ages and stressed as trying get ds to do school work and struggling. His one to one often struggles to get him to focus so God help me lol. May just resort to us reading the mr men collection as he really enjoys them!

Glad he seems to only have it mild at the moment and it continues to stay that way. I think there is something where children who have a low viral load of covid are less likely to pass it on, but it’s obviously not guaranteed that whoever catches it from them, that they also go on to have it mild. With regards to school work, you can only do what you can. If that’s reading Mr Men books, then it’s something.

Dd had it very, very mildly, the rest of us have got away with it (now 12 days from her pcr test that was positive - taken due to being a close contact). She helpfully had it during the good weather week so we had every door and window in the house open during days 1-7 of her infection, tried to isolate as much as you can/we were willing to with a tween.

I do believe that the fact she wasn't sneezing/coughing/spluttering everywhere must surely have helped reduce the chances of the rest of us getting it.

You could have written this about my DSs, OP. One tested positive on LFT Tuesday, positive PCR done on Wednesday. He had a cough on the Monday and Tuesday but really not awful, just slightly. He's now absolutely fine, albeit very frustrated.

DS2, meanwhile, had a slight headache yesterday morning and has had his positive PCR result back today. He's now completely well again.

DC are, generally, really not hugely affected by it.
