Third vaccine~ When to worry

I had a booster on Monday and received Pfizer. My first two were Novavax under a vaccine trial last November and I did have a reaction on the second however I’m a bit worried this time.
Tuesday afternoon I started with deep aching and tiredness and feeling off. Since then I’ve had periods of chills and the last 24 hours I’ve been feeling boiling hot but my temperature is averaging 35.3 over both ears. When do I worry given this is day three after the injection?
Thanks in advance

Worry about what?

SheWoreYellow · 30/09/2021 11:20

That sounds like a normal post vaccine fluiness.

Did they give you a leaflet with what to look out for?

pennee · 30/09/2021 11:21

The low temperature of 35.3 I mean because I’m boiling hot and having sweats with it. Temperature was just bordering on 38 yesterday morning and now dropped to around 35.

@sheworeyellow yes gave me a leaflet but only high temperature is mentioned for a couple of days.

I’d call 111 and see what they advise. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Can you get a different thermometer to try?

Soundofshuna · 30/09/2021 11:28

I had mine on Sunday. I felt dreadful Sunday night and on occasion Monday Tuesday. Fine now.
Why don’t you stop taking your temperature?
I think vaccine effects can last up to a week.

pennee · 30/09/2021 11:33

Tried an under tongue one and temp still the same. I will ask 111 as when you google 35 is dangerous 🤨
Thanks all

Do you know what your temperature normally is? Mine is regularly 35.1-35.8 (different thermometers). I guess you've tried taking paracetamol - maybe try alternatively every two hours with paracetamol and ibuprofen - if that doesn't ease the periods of being hot and you know you're still not feeling right, then I'd phone for more advice.

Finally got through to a doctor today. Now have “covid arm” so the low and high temperatures are related and it’s classed as an allergic reaction. whole of the top of the arm is hot and swollen so have to keep an eye on the temperatures in case it leads to infection. Advised to not have Pfizer again!

Blimey, just had a quick read up on covid arm, sounds like you’ve been really unlucky but it shouldn’t last too long. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Take care of yourself. I would worry about a low temp. If you need a second opinion do get one if you feel very unwell. Hope you feel better soon x

IncredulousOne · 02/10/2021 21:15

Don't worry, "the vaccines are safe and effective and the chances of an adverse reaction are vanishingly small".

Seriously to the OP - sorry you're having a bad reaction. I hope you feel better soon.

How is this a useful contribution to the thread?

COVID arm is a delayed local hypersensitivity to the vaccine which is self limiting and treated at home. Prevalence is rare.

Trolling the thread and using this as an argument that the vaccines aren't safe or effective (?) is ridiculous.

OP hope you feel better very soon!

SuperstarDog · 06/10/2021 15:56

How are you feeling now OP? Hoping you’re doing much better.

Beakerandbungle · 06/10/2021 20:31

Hope you are feeling better OP. I know you did call for advice but just wanted to say for the thread that low temperatures can be a really worrying sign ( more than high!) so definitely always ring for advice with a low temperature ( unless you are usually low!)
