Hi my son is 9 years old and a learning disability which makes him non verbal. He's seems to have developed a rash since yesterday. He has no temperature but does have a slight cough.
I know a few teaching assistants are off in his class and have been for over a week.

Does any one think this could be covid with just a rash really. The rash is mainly on his chest, back and near his privates.
Any advice

Sal

You won’t know unless you get him a PCR test I’m afraid. As he has a cough you should get one ASAP. I so hope they introduce a test for children soon that isn’t as invasive as the nasal swabs though. It’s so hard doing them on little people, the best of luck.

He started coughing again so I have ordered a test. Will have to pin him down to do it.

I spoke to school this morning and they want me to take him to a test centre for quicker results. She said postal test are taking up to 7 days and if I can't test him he needs to stay at home for 10days

Hope the test goes okay op. I know what it's like. Ds is autistic and hates tests, we had to pin him down last time. It could be covid, it might not be. But the plus side is results are coming back quick. The school can't force a walk/drive in test of postal testing is easier for you it may just been longer off school.
