Dh had a very strong positive line on lft tonight. Hes shivery and showing signs of a bad cold. The rest of us are all fine so far but not sure of the school protocol now. I'm fairly sure his pcr will be positive too so do we all isolate or do children have to get tested and if clear they go to school .. I'd be happy for us to just isolate to make sure but I know schools are very strict with attendance now so not sure whether to book us all in tomorrow for pcr??

www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection

Check with the school, my kids primary says the kids can still come in if a contact. Secondary is currently sending home any child with any slight symptom not even the main 3, i.e. headache, nausea, abdominal pain and requiring a PCR before they can return and doesn't want contacts in either.

If DH is booking a PCR I'm sure they give you the option to book the whole household a test too. I know several families who have all had PCR tests when just one person was showing symptoms. You don't have to do this though, remember that, if you feel it would be too much for your dc to tolerate then you don't need to test them at this stage if symptomless.

As it’s a very close contact,our school would want the DC to take a PCR test and isolate until the result but that’s slightly more onerous than the govt guidance

Thanx everyone . Think it might be easier to just get us all checked. The children have been tested before and was ok having it done .. luckily for children it's just the nose . If he's positive It's the first time we've had to deal with this so feeling slightly anxious 😦

@Louisa111

If you’re all going for a drive through PCR together one tip would be to remember to have a pen!

We did 3 together and you need to mark/write whose test is which.

Great idea.. I had to get myself and children tested back in April as we all had sore throats and got myself in a muddle ..luckily all were negative as it's so easy to get them mixed up

It may be too soon to check the children

Ideally it’s 2/3 days later as contacts

They need LFT for a week to be sure

They don’t need to isolate so can go to school. You can work if you are double jabbed

We’ve had many staff in work who are close contacts and had no spread

My County has just started asking children with positive siblings to stay off school, but not if the contact is a parent.

We didn't need a pen
