We all live together

DD (23) 14 days after 2nd vaccine has a cough PCR tedt and isolate until results

DH & I - no symptoms - long after 2nd vaccine no isolation take PCR test

Her BF (24) 10 days after 2nd vaccine so he isolates until DD gets her result; does he PCR today?

Sorry I get confused

You and DH do not need a PCR unless you develop symptoms yourselves.

BrilliantBetty · 23/09/2021 18:15

Wait until she gets a positive it might just be a cold

kimlo · 23/09/2021 18:24

dd and bf isolate until results.

Negative isolation ends.

Positive, everybody gets a pcr. Bf stays in isolation you and dh don't unless positive. Bf isolates until the end of her isolation or 10 days from his own positive result.

yes thats the reason only the bf has to isolate, if he had been 2nd jab plus 14 he wouldn't have had to unless positive himself or he is syptomatic.

Dd needs to isolate regardless of vaccination because she has symptoms.

I was confused by this:
If someone you live with has symptoms of COVID-19, or has tested positive for COVID-19, you will not need to self-isolate if any of the following apply:

Followed by:

Even if you do not have symptoms, you should still:

get aPCR test on GOV.UKto check if you have COVID-19

I used to be a civil servant but it's got worse!

yes, close contacts of a positive case get a pcr. They don't have to isolate until they get the results if they don't have symptoms and are exempt from close contact isolation though.
