Should I take DD, 16, for Covid vaccine today?

Covid cases are taking out Year 11 in huge chunks. DD is newly 16 and I can take her to a walk in vaccination centre today. The chances of her already having covid, or getting it in the next week before she gets vaccine immunity feels high. Are there issues if you have the vaccine and already have Covid-19? Today she has tested negative on a lateral flow and that's all I can really go on.

If it was me then I would.

Isn’t there advice that you shouldn’t have the vaccine within four weeks or so of having Covid? There must be a good reason for this and so I would probably not rush into getting the jab when she may be carrying the virus already.

I would. My 15 yo is getting jabbed in school next week

My understanding is that you must wait 4 weeks to get the vaccine after testing positive so that you can differentiate between covid vaccine side effects and covid symptoms. But now that it is my daughter, I am worrying that there is another reason. However, when would be a good time? The infections are just going to be there constantly in school from now onwards Confused

If she wants to get the vaccine why not go along to the walk in centre, explain the situation and see what they advise.

Good plan.
