Just that really? Did not isolate DS as he was feeling well and we were all testing negative. will do now he's tested positive but is it too late now that we've all been around him? (And at school Monday and Tuesday)

Pretty sure it came from his friend at school he sits next to who tested positive on Sunday.

Thanks

No we don't didn't get it off little one, but 15 days later big one is feeling ill.

Stringervest · 23/09/2021 08:05

We didn't catch it off DD (4) much to my annoyance because it means there is inevitably more disruption and isolation to come this winter.

DD has been completely asymptomatic. We only tested due to a positive case in her class. I guess that probably means she's less likely to pass it on. Zero social distancing in our house.

DH and DS tested positive on LFT’s on the same day. PCR’s came back positive for them but negative for me and DD. I tested positive 4 days later. DD didn’t get it.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 23/09/2021 08:53

Other way round here, DS caught it from me. I'd never isolate him from me anyway. I'm glad we both had it at the same time as it means I won't have to take any more time off work!

HariboHippo · 23/09/2021 08:55

DS caught it from DH, both full of cold symptoms prompting positive tests, yet I didn’t catch it from either, despite DS being very clingy. I am fully vaccinated, but so was DH Confused

No for DS2 when he had Covid in Nov 2020.

Yes for DS1 who tested positive this week. I have it, though DH doesn't - yet...

Momof2boys1girl · 23/09/2021 22:28

No, my 15yr old caught it from school, she had a bit of a sore throat, nothing else, positive lft then positive pcr. She didn’t isolate and the rest of us (me dh and 2 dc) never caught it

Lushmetender · 23/09/2021 22:42

We’re 16 days in having 3 children have it with DH and I not having it yet! Bit of a sod of a virus though as 2 kids were ill - one a good 10 days and still falling asleep early in evening as post viral. Other really crappy cough and panicked she could not breathe for a few days! Still my fingers crossed we’ll avoid it will my next booster!!!! DH and I double vaxxed and 50!

ShirazSavedMySanity · 23/09/2021 22:44

Yes, we all caught it from the 10 year old, despite DD13 locking herself in her room, using her own bathroom and eating meals in her room.

Genderwitched · 23/09/2021 23:24

Yes, got it now, despite being double vaccinated. I caught it from Ds who caught it from someone he sat next to at school. We have isolated on the top floor and Dh and DD not got it yet.

I feel strangely relived although I do understand that I could get it again.

Woolysock · 24/09/2021 11:08

Thanks all, I guess time will see, it is what it is, covid seems to be rife in schools!

Just hoping year 11 dc doesn’t get it before he gets his covid jab!

@Genderwitched I know what you mean although it would have been better if my dc caught it during one of their many bubble isolation weeks before summer!

Still holding on here! 17 days that COVID has been in the house🤞. Dc out of isolation tomorrow! Doesn’t mean to say I won’t catch it from a different source in the future! Some advantages for Being antisocial!

middleager · 24/09/2021 13:45

Wooly, my y11 has got it before the Covid jab.
He can have the vaccination at a later date and will carry some immunity from the virus until then hopefully.
My other y11 had it last year and hasn't caught it off his brother (yet!) Whereas I, double jabbed, have caught it off him!

Endeavormorse · 24/09/2021 18:03

Yes I've caught it from DS11 despite trying to be careful. Tested positive today.
