I’m due the second in a few weeks..not much issues with the first one but had it flooring a lot if anxiety…I spoke to two different individuals at work over the past few weeks who have mentioned some issues with their heart…palpitations and Rythmn changes.
Now that my second dose is nearing I’m feeling more nervous, their seems to be more cases of adverse issues although predominantly younger age group there are older individuals affected as well..
I had Pfizer..and I’m 40

Anyone else feeling like this?

No. Had my second with no problems.

WeWantTheFinestWines · 21/09/2021 17:54

Side effects are generally less pronounced for the second jab. And a lot less than the effects you get from Covid. Have it.

madmomma · 21/09/2021 17:55

Yes I'm a bit nervous, although I'll still have it. The first was absolutely fine but I'm still nervous for the second just cos of the things you hear. I think on balance though I'm more nervous of getting covid.

bringmelaughter · 21/09/2021 17:58

About to have third dose. First 2 Pfizer and third will likely be Pfizer as well. Have had no issues at all. Balance of risks is really clear. You’re more likely to have unwanted effects if you have Covid than if you have the vaccine.

Tulipomania · 21/09/2021 18:01

I had no issues with my 2nd dose at all (Astra Zeneca).

Hoping to get my booster jab fairly soon, along with a flu jab.

nordica · 21/09/2021 18:07

Mostly you just hear about it more - those who have no side-effects or very mild side-effects for a day or so, are not likely to discuss it in great detail. Any more serious side-effects are extremely rare. Considering millions of people have now been vaccinated and been absolutely fine, try not to worry too much. I remember your previous posts about your vaccine anxiety so I understand it's difficult.

Spudina · 21/09/2021 18:11

I’m about to get my third. The benefits far outweigh any risk. The worse I had with either was a sore arm. You reduce your risk of being hospitalised by 88% with the Pzifer vaccine. It’s really a no brainier.

GreatBigBeautifulTommorow · 21/09/2021 18:19

Had 2 Pfizer no issues and waiting for booster in next couple of weeks.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 21/09/2021 19:56

Just had my second Pfizer on Friday. No concerns at all and it went fine as expected.

Confused10101 · 22/09/2021 10:35

Thank you all for your responses…they help. Yes I had a nightmare of a time with anxiety but got the first dose done. I know that’s it’s best to get the second one for full protection. I’ve seen a few posts here re: heart issues but kept telling myself it’s rare however the two individuals at work made me wobble..they didn’t go out of their way to scare me but it came out with one when we were climbing stairs snd commenting on her palpitations and the other cancelling a meeting due to a doctor’s appointment for checks…
They are both mid 40s do not in the risk age group for myocarditis or percarditis…hence the wobble

*pericarditis

Had my first Pfizer and had painful heart twinges for a few days starting 48 hrs after (I never get this), as well as the vaccination flooring me physically for a day (starting 12 hrs after vacc).

I was worried with the twinges but they went after a few days, and I carried on with exercise (albeit took it a bit easier - I am fond of hill running but no hills for now, just in case!), and it seemed to be good.

I will have a 2nd dose since I work in a crowded environment and want to be protected to the best extent over the winter especially. I will keep an eye on heart symptoms, and hope that I don't suddenly keel over! I do have to say I have some anxiety about this but not enough to not g through with it.

Nerdygirl · 22/09/2021 12:49

I am worried and all geared up to get it today and now there are no walk in’s open and can’t get an appointment for weeks!

Sweetnhappy1 · 22/09/2021 21:13

I felt pretty rough after my first Pfizer last December for around 48 hours with fever and fatigue. My second Pfizer was 3 weeks later on January (just before the government changed to a 12 week gap) and I only had a sore arm with it. My third Pfizer was today at 3pm. So far, nothing.

Confused10101 · 22/09/2021 23:25

@Sweetnhappy1 hope you are feeling ok?

Confused10101 · 22/09/2021 23:27

@Nerdygirl not sure which part of the country you are in but there are a number of pop up ones starting where I am..have you rung 119 to check if they can find a suitable one for you?

I saw this statement made by an MP in the Hansard which is concerning

Our hospitals have a large number of in-patients who are there only because they took the vaccine. It is causing a lot of angst for consultants across the country. That is why the Government should say now that they are going to look at these issues off their own bat without being required to by Parliament, and that they will carry out a review, which could also include assessing costs and benefits.

My second one is due but wont be having it until after my hair appointment due to the belief that hair cant be coloured for two weeks after a vaccine dose. I did the first one between appointments too. Had enough of going without during the lockdowns

Suzi888 · 23/09/2021 03:43

I’m 43, AZ jab and zero side effects either time. Not even the sore arm.

YerAWizardHarry · 23/09/2021 03:45

I had an (unrelated) blood clot in my lungs after my first and still went for my second

SpringRainbow · 23/09/2021 04:06

I don’t know anyone who has had serious issues after either vaccine.

I know quite a few who felt a little poorly for a day or two, mostly after the first jab.

Personally my arm really hurt after the first one, the second one was fine.

Not concerning unless we see proof.

Kiwi09 · 23/09/2021 07:39

I know lots and lots of people double jabbed with Pfizer. Most people had more of a response to the second dose - arm a bit sore and feeling a bit blah. I haven’t heard of a single person I know having a serious reaction to the vaccine. I do know people who felt less anxious/relived after being jabbed though.

Confused10101 · 23/09/2021 08:47

@Waxonwaxoff0 yes agree, which is what I’m struggling to understand- how can an MP say something like this in the parliament without backing it up?

Confused10101 · 23/09/2021 08:48

@Kiwi09 thank you- that helps…
