Close contact at 24 weeks pregnant

I'm double jabbed (about three weeks ago) and no risk factors apart from pregnancy. Someone I share an office with has just tested positive; if I do get it, is it likely that the baby will be OK? Hearing a lot of scare stories about delivery and stillbirth.

Any reassurance (or reality check) welcomed. Thank you Flowers

As I understand it, if you get it it should be mild as you are double jabbed.

I am 36 weeks and double jabbed, I understand your concerns as it is worrying while we’re pregnant. I’m living normally and not worrying but if I came into contact with someone with it it probably would worry me. X

Hopefully you will be okay. Statistics are in your favour that you and baby will be fine.

BessSedgwick · 21/09/2021 07:32

Thank you both. Is there any data on outcomes for double jabbed pregnant women?

I’m sure if there were any problems with pregnancies and childbirth after being double vaccinated, we would have heard of it by now, there must be 1000’s of births since vaccinations started.

I’m not jabbed at all and have had covid twice this pregnancy! Odds are definitely in your favor so try not to worry too much.

Give your midwife a call/message. It's likely they may want more checks/scans on you. But given you're double jabbed chances are you'll be fine but I understand your worry - currently 29weeks and dreading getting notifications

@BessSedgwick yes there have been lots of babies born both here and in the USA with no issues. I highly recommend going on the ‘pregnant then screwed’ Instagram - they did a live with a scientist which is still on their IGTV I think, really interesting and reassuring if you want the facts from those who know and understand data xxx

Thank you everyone. I've done a PCR, so I suppose it's just a waiting game now. Can't believe there's another three months to go (!)
