Covid travel question

Would really appreciate some advice as my extensive googling hasn't helped much. Thanks in advance.

I was planning to fly to a European country on the green list at the end of this month, to see my elderly parents. Tickets booked. I am fully vaccinated but have recently tested positive for Covid.

Of course I won't fly if that would be dangerous, but how can I know? The NHS seems to recommend a rapid antigen test before flying, but I'm worried about a false negative. I've also read that no PCR test will be accurate after infection within 90 days.

Would it be best to cancel the trip altogether?

My boss was in a similar situation. Double vaccinated, he tested positive with PCR about 9 days before departure. The country he was flying to required a LFT not more than 48h before boarding. He did the free LFT tests by nhs almost every day for a week, always positive, and eventually he tested negative in the same day he was due to go to the lab where he would do the fit-for-travel one. All turned negative. Allowed to fly, and also ok with coming back a few weeks later with the pre-departure and PCR test on day2.
He thinks that the double vaccination managed to get the viral load to undetectable levels in very short time.

(I would have not done it. He was pretty lucky. But hey, all turned well in the end)
