Proof of negative lft after positive pcr

My daughter has tested positive for covid via pcr test today. We are in Scotland. Quite. Few places and events require a negative lft test for entry but you are not supposed to test for 90 days after a positive pcr due to unreliable results. Has anyone faced this and how did you get around it? Would proof of positive status plus at least 10 days be enough? Can’t find answer anywhere!

Hiya I was going to explain how she can sort it then I saw you are in Scotland so different rules . I would suggest you contact somewhere that requires a negative lft and explain the situation, ask if proof she's had covid means she won't need the lft .

Usually, showing proof of recent infection is sufficient but I wouldn't worry about taking an lft. They're really not sensitive enough to pick up an idiom that's no longer present. The advice not to test for 90 days relates to PCRs, because they can pick up tiny fragments of dead virus for a period of time after the virus has been killed off. If you're worried, take an lft at home first to check.

Idiom = virus, because my phone knows so much better than me what I'm trying to say 🙄

Before you worry about this, I'd get her to take an LFT after the 10 day isolation and there's a very good chance that it will be negative. My colleagues who have tested positive via PCR have all had negative LFTs after their isolation period (we have to do 2 LFTs a week).

Or she fakes logging the results like so many others do. I'm not advocating that approach btw.

Thank you everyone. That’s really reassuring.
