Isolation awaiting covid results?

My daughter's feeling quite unwell although no official covid symptoms yet, I'm thinking ahead to tomorrow morning if she feels worse.

If she needs a test and needs to isolate until results are back, can my son (age 10) carry on as normal to school? Unsure on the gov guidance whilst one person has symptoms. Thank you!

Official line is if your daughter has symptoms, she has a PCR and isolates whilst she waits for results. Everyone else doesn’t need to self isolate (assuming double vaccinated or under 18.5 years). If her test comes back positive, people in above categories who are close contacts are advised to get a PCR, but don’t have to isolate whilst waiting for results, as long as no symptoms.

Depends where you live in the UK
In Scotland you do all need to isolate until the test result comes back
Don't think you do if you're in England

Thanks so much.

If in England yes he is supposed to go to school if symptomless, our school is saying if keep them off its marked as unauthorised absence. Seems crazy for siblings but that is the current rule.
