Can I travel to France with the Indian-made batch of AZ vax?

Just that, really. I had batch 41202001 which was one of two batches manufactured in India. Some time ago in the press there was some noise about how these batches wouldn't be ok for travel as they fell outside European licensing remits or something. I haven't heard this since but before I book a trip to France, wanted to see what the Mumsnet hive brain had to say...

Yes, a family member did this and it was no problem.

We're in France at the moment, shown our vaccine passport many, many times with no problems.

Can someone else clarify something about France for me.
I want to take my unvaccinated 14 y.o. son with me to France to meet up with my sisters. Can he go into restaurants?

I want to ask exactly that too! It's a right pain if they fall between 12 and 18 - it's no man's land in terms of exemptions and vaccine passports.

I’ve just been to France and the Indian batch wasn’t an issue. Although in fairness they only checked the second dose barcode (which is a different batch). But I have been to another Eu country this summer who’s supposedly not recognising the Indian batch, and nobody bat an eye.

I need to know about France with my 15 year old too… I think she just needs to test before she gets there (when? The day before?) and show proof of that but it’s so hard to find the right info

SoOvethis · 18/09/2021 22:54

Over 12’s if not vaccinated or recently had covid have to have a test every 72 hours. They are easy to access - usually at pharmacies. Costs roughly €26ish

carlycurly · 19/09/2021 14:05

Oh gosh really? We've bounced this trip so many times but I'm wondering about just writing it off. My two will only be singly vaccinated by the time we're due to go.

Kevinishot · 19/09/2021 14:09

That’s fine then - presume we have to take one before we leave so she can get off the plane?!
