Could you post the email text here? Obviously with personal details removed.

One of the children I look after has had Covid symptoms. Parent has sent me an email suggesting that they have had a negative Covid test but it talks about having to isolate if you've been in contact with a positive case. As I understand it, that is no longer the case and given how quickly they seem to have a result I'm wondering if they have just changed some details from an older email. Thanks.

I’ve had both positive snd negative messages this week - they do mention the need to isolate close contacts unless legally exempt. They don’t say: exemptions are everyone under 18 or double vaccinated. Which is what it is. I’ve just explained to track snd trace , that calling someone who is suffering with covid, asking all about close contacts , is pretty irritating when all close contacts are either U18 or DV. Why they don’t start with that 😩

The texts aren’t all the same anyway. Mine a couple of days ago does say about isolating but also gives a link to exemptions.

The guidance says isolate but then gives exemptions (double jabbed or under 18).

But I have compared texts with friends and the wording isn’t always the same.

This is the negative one for dc:

Your coronavirus PCR test (or other lab test) result is negative. It’s likely you did not have the virus when the test was done.

Keep following coronavirus advice including:

regular handwashing
social distancing
wearing a face covering where recommended
You may need to self-isolate, despite this negative result. Go to www.nhs.uk/coronavirus and read ‘Self-isolation and tre

This is what I received this morning:

Your coronavirus PCR test (or other lab test) result is negative. It’s likely you did not have the virus when the test was done.

Keep following coronavirus advice including:

regular handwashing
social distancing
wearing a face covering where recommended
You may need to self-isolate, despite this negative result. Go to www.nhs.uk/coronavirus and read ‘Self-isolation and treating symptoms’.

If you’re going into hospital for a procedure, continue to self-isolate until the date you go in.

If you have symptoms that do not go away, contact 111 or see your GP. In an emergency dial 999.
