Am currently on extended isolation due to continuing symptoms, I am double jabbed, but never felt so utterly lifeless and just generally low.

I am very much the sort of person normally with the ability to power through most sickness but this has floored me for almost two weeks now. I was last in the household to go down with this, but am not yet ale to see any end in sight, feeling hopelessly useless right now.

If you had Covid-how long did it take you to feel at all back on par again? I am particularly interested to hear about losing the awful wobbly/headache/nauseous feeling and restoring normal energy levels.

Any tips also welcome though we are of course doing all the obvious/recommended stuff!

Honestly, 3 or 4 months. That was prevaccine though.

I stopped feeling utterly horrendous after 6 weeks.

As you are vaccinated I think you could hope for a big improvement by day 14 but you might need to take things quite easy for a week or two. Flowers

Theredjellybean · 14/09/2021 13:15

Headache took about two weeks, crushing chest pain the same.
Felt completely normal about three weeks later
But sense of taste still not same after 18 months

Angrymum22 · 14/09/2021 13:21

On second infection and double vaccinated. This time round the symptoms seemed to have been compressed and I’m now back at work after 12 days. A bit tired but I expected that. First time round it took over 4 weeks to get to the same stage.

Whyarewehardofthinking · 14/09/2021 13:23

A few months, but I caught it pre vaccine in Feb. I still have problems with fatigue and headaches and I've certainly lost some of my fitness; hills and stairs leave me breathless despite being in reasonable shape.

Lindy2 · 14/09/2021 13:24

I was ill for around 3 weeks.

Still a bit dazed, tired and wobbly for a further 3 weeks after that.

Probably back to feeling mostly normal about 3 months later.

That was from Covid in January before vaccination.

I cycle as a hobby and I basically had to start again from a fitness level where I'd never cycled before back to being able to do my normal, not particularly long, rides again. That probably took about 4 months or so.

I hope you feel better soon.

I also had constant nausea. It does gradually disappear, particularly when you start to get your appetite back again.

DoubleShotEspresso · 14/09/2021 14:13

Gosh thanks for these honest responses, I suppose i am feeling a bit delfated as I had begun a very concerted effort with personal fitness since June and really had felt like I was getting somewhere, but moving generally about the house currently feels like a workout in itself. Guess I need to start again from scratch- still very much out of sorts but trying to boost with foods and vitamins but appetite and taste are at zero really.
I really feel this message they're trying to force out onto everyone at this being like a bad cold having been double jabbed is a complete fallacy based on our experience, this really is something else.
I bloody hope Boris has a better plan than is being reported but hey I am accustomed to his lunacy at this point. Thanks all.

The fact that you have worked on your personal fitness will definitely pay off as you recuperate but fit or not this can still be a nasty virus for some, so give yourself a little time to recover.

stressease · 14/09/2021 17:03

Hi

How far on are you ?

I am on around day 20 and still waking with a muggy headachy headache and. some nausea. Very tired too. And getting fed up.

Occasionally having tight chest which started in second week for me.

Double jabbed and starting to worry it’s not going away. 😬

Xx

Reading these responses, I think I won't tell you. Hopefully you feel better soon.

Thanks, I have a feeling it's going to take quite something to get me back to any levels like before, I am not sure I can contemplate running at all at the minute.

I think I am possibly on day 12? DP has been about 3 weeks and DC is on day 17-very poorly I am worried .

I think I possibly ignored some of my symptoms early on so it's a bit hard to pinpoint as I was so focused on everybody else here and also my mum who is very unwell currently (unrelated to Covid). It's probably longer than 12 days for me if i am honest thinking about it. I am double jabbed too, how this is seriously supposed to have helped is a mystery from where I am sitting, which I know sounds trite but I genuinely thought jabs were supposed to reduce effects far more significantly than appears to be the case.

My biggest concern is that I can maintain energy levels enough to be alright caring for DC (Complex needs), which is typically a 24/7 relentless job. Well I have to it's as simple as that.

Sure things will ease for both of us😊

In my head I constantly have a voice saying I’m too busy to be ill as like you I’m juggling caring responsibilities and work. Hoping another week , even two or three and we will be back to normal.

I’m just thankful I had the vaccine as I think I may have been much worse without. But the 10 day period and comments of it’s just like a cold when you’ve been vaccinated are wearing abit thin !!!

Xxx

I hope so yes 👍🏻
Get well soon xxx

Weird hot feeling in chest disappeared after 2 weeks
Covid brain about 5 weeks
Taste and smell 6 weeks
Palpitations climbing stairs etc 3 months
Constant feeling of fatigue and going to bed straight after work 6 months

Grand scheme of things it could have been worse as I was at least able to continue working but did struggle tbh.

"I'm not sure what I've missed? Can you please explain?"

This poster has apparently Benn posting in a lot of threads and has been reported as a troll. Most likely they posted this in the wrong thread.
