I didn't have my covid vaccine done at my doctors because I don't work for the NHS anymore they don't accept I'm a healthcare professional and would not prioritise me as group 2. I pay for my flu vaccine every year too because it's just easier than explaining you can be a health professional and not work for the NHS.

I do spend most of my working day in care homes so one of those very kindly spoke to the nurse doing her residents and I had my vaccinations done there.

The first vaccination was recorded on my health records. The second one wasn't.

I am being asked to show my vaccine status on the NHS app and it's only showing one vaccine in January.

I have rung the 119 helpline who said my dr could update my records if I showed my vaccine card to them. My surgery have said they cannot do this.

I rang the surgery who vaccinated me at the care home and they have said they only have access to the portal to record vaccines on the day of vaccination and that they cant help me.

If all my clients want online proof of double vaccinated status by November 11th I effectively lose my 21 year career and sole source of income on that day. I wont be able to work in the NHS on an agency basis because officially I wont be double jabbed.

I'm the only income as dh has a lot of heart problems and cannot work. He is awaiting two operations that are delayed by covid, he's very ill so I have the constant stress of that too. He was made redundant due to covid around the time the heart failure started. If he could have his operations he'd be ok to work.

No one I turn to is helping me at all and I do not know what to do now. They are sending me around in a circle of "no, we cant do that for you".

Everything is going wrong for me in a rather spectacular way right now and I just can't do this anymore.

I cant find link but its GP legal responsibility to fix

Under GDPR rules the information they hold has to be accurate and up to date. They have to fix it

CoffeeRunner · 13/09/2021 20:10

Right. Part of my job is recording Covid vaccinations.

It can only be properly added by the service/clinic who gave you the vaccine. It is absolute bollocks that they only have access to it on the date of vaccination. It's just a website. If you have your login details you can access it whenever. You can change the date & time of vaccination to record a vaccine given months ago.

Your GP can record it on your medical record but as this will be done in a slightly different way, it wouldn't generally show up on the NHS App for the Covid passport.

the link here gives advice to gps on how to fix but ultimately the law states they cannot hold inaccurate data on you.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/09/2021 20:19

I'm going over on spec tomorrow if their open.

Do I need to complain to the practice manager?. I've been crying all night and can't eat.

If you are being sent around the houses and have tried a million times to get this sorted then I would keep trying but ultimately I would just get another second jab before 11th November.

The boosters are coming up anyway so I assume this will just mean you dont have to have a booster for a while, by which point you might not need it.

Your GP can add the correct data to your medical records & of course they will. However, it has to be entered by the provider with their service/provider code & details of the Vaccinator etc for it to show up on the Pinnacle system. Which is what you need for the NHS App to recognise it.

And this is what is causing the issue with people's NHS Apps not picking up vaccines added by their own GPs.

Where are you going on spec? Your own GP or the practice who vaccinated you?
Watapalava · 13/09/2021 20:24

I have to admit i had this issue with dh record. I complained to that mny people in the end im not sure who fixed it but his missing first vaccine was added in the end! Only took 4 GP phone calls and 3 visits to testing site!

CoffeeRunner · 13/09/2021 20:27

Our practice manager did sort it out for one patient - by phoning the practice manager of the practice who had vaccinated our patient.

That was early on in the Covid passport days, before she realised how many patients would be having the issue.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/09/2021 20:28

The one who vaccinated me.

I'm not weak usually but I've had a lot to cope with.

oneglassandpuzzled · 13/09/2021 20:28

Do you have your vaccination card? That's some proof of both doses at least.

Teesdale2622 · 13/09/2021 20:29

Dd is having this issue, 1st does was done at a pop up centre.

Lots of round the houses and it updated on a system somewhere so she was allowed to have 2nd dose.

However 1st dose still not showing on passport and it’s been weeks….can’t go back to pop up centre, gp saying nothing to do with them as she had 1st dowse done in another London Borough…

AnyFucker · 13/09/2021 20:29

Would it work to just have another jab ?

musicalfrog · 13/09/2021 20:30

You're probably due a booster in the next few weeks anyway.

Best of luck OP. There is no excuse for them not fixing the error. We have vaccinated thousands of people - if we have omitted to record one or made an error with it we have to put it right.
CovidCorvid · 13/09/2021 20:35

I’d get another jab. It will have the added bonus of being the booster which apparently will increase your immunity and sort your work issue out.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/09/2021 20:38

I have considered just booking for a third jab. It would make all this go away.

I know I still have antibodies as I'm on the Oxford covid study and I give a blood sample every month. I'm the quickest bleeder in our area apparently so at least something's gone right. I can bleed quickly.

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 13/09/2021 20:39

If it is upsetting you this much just get a 3rd jab

Motorina · 13/09/2021 20:48

@Fluffycloudland77

What a nightmare! I'm not surprised you're stressed and upset, with all that to deal with.

A few suggestions:

  1. Contact your local PALS. They're normally pretty good at cutting through red tape and 'can't be arsed'.
  2. Do you have your physical vaccine card? If so, that should have all the information your employers need on it. There's nothing at all in the app that requires them to get the data via the app. It would be worth simply explaining the situation (I'd do so by email, so you have a paper trail) and attaching a photo of the card. That way they have proof, and you can demonstrate that you've provided it.
  3. Simply get another jab. Yes, it's daft. No, you shouldn't have to. But likelyhood is healthcare workers will be getting a booster jab soonish anyway, so you're simply pre-empting that.

I'm sorry this is being so stressful.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/09/2021 20:59

I do have the card, I even laminated it for longevity but they arent accepting it as proof. I suppose it open to abuse or forgery.

I've got my flu vaccine on Wednesday so I could book one after that if I don't get anywhere.

OP posts:
CoffeeRunner · 13/09/2021 21:05

You need to wait 7 days after a flu vaccination before having a Covid vaccine OP - just so that you are aware.

As you have told your GP about your second vaccine, you wouldn't be able to get a third through them (until boosters are a thing), as their own system will/should show you have had both.

You could potentially try & book online. It may work, I'm not sure.

Rosehip10 · 14/09/2021 01:19

Just book a third jab.

HarebrightCedarmoon · 14/09/2021 03:54

I'd just have a second "second" jab, sounds much easier and you'll have better immunity.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2021 13:52

The manager of the home rang the drs surgery for me on Tuesday & spoke to them & now I have a covid passport!.

It wasn’t just me either, 2 other members of staff weren’t documented on the day.

Now I just need dh to be called for a booster before his operations.

OP posts:
WhiskeryWoman · 16/09/2021 14:17

Glad it’s sorted OP. What a ridiculous situation and clearly not just you that’s having to deal with this.

To all those saying just have a third jab… seriously?! What if OP had AZ? Will Pfizer count as being double jabbed? It certainly doesn’t for those vaccinated in the EU. If OP did have Pfizer - is the booster being given at the same dosage? Do we know that OP and all other health care professionals won’t be told they have to have a booster or they lose their job? Seems like really duff advice to me and far better to deal with the actual problem.
