Household isolation

Hi - If someone in your household has a cold (or other possible Covid symptoms), has tested negative on a LFT but is going for a pcr test (just to be sure!), does the household need to self isolate while awaiting the result?

What symptoms? Is it one of the three key ones?

People double jabbed plus 14 days/under 18yrs old don’t need to isolate unless positive/key symptoms themselves.

Thanks, DD has a cold which includes a slight occasional cough. Went last night for a test but negative result literally just back now! She only went for test because of my insistence/paranoia. However I can see this situation arising again. Rest of household are all double jabbed.

Glad she’s already got a negative result. Hope you manage to avoid any more tricky situations. Winter is going to be fun for all of us!

If everyone is double jabbed then they don’t have to isolate, only the person waiting for the PCR has to isolate (until they get results). Luckily PCR results are getting a lot faster as many testing sites now have on site labs, we got DD’s results back in ten hours yesterday.
