Bugger, does she need PCR?

Just been told that someone in dd's guides group has tested positive. Been told that dd didn't spend any time with the +ve person, but guides leader contacting all who were there. No contact from test and trace. Dd does not have any symptoms.

We're due to take dd1 to uni halls on Sunday...She will be absolutely devastated if we have to delay. Dd1 has had one vaccine (she's 17), dp and I both double vaccinated.

What do we do? We have LFD tests here, or do I need to organise a PCR test for dd2? If we're waiting for outcome of non symptomatic PCR test do we have to isolate??

We've managed this long with no isolation, couldn't have come at a worse time.

If she didn't spend anytime then technically nothing needs to happen

idontlikealdi · 10/09/2021 11:09

You don't need to do anything

PersonaNonGarter · 10/09/2021 11:10

I can’t really see a downside to you all doing a pcr test ASAP.

Auntieobem · 10/09/2021 11:11

Wouldn't we need to isolate until results of PCR come back? Or is that just for symptomatic?

They’re back pretty quick. If you go now they’ll be back by tomorrow morning. But don’t hang around.

Shouldershrugger · 10/09/2021 11:12

Just do a lft. No need for a pcr test.

Yodelayhehoo · 10/09/2021 11:17

I would just do a LFT

Contacts don’t have to isolate until results come back as long as not symptomatic
