OH has tested positive doing lateral flow. I then did one but its negative. LO has been unwell with similar symptoms as OH but wont let me test her.

We have not yet been jabbed. OH will be isolating, but do I need to isolate?

Yes he needs to get a PCR booked ASAP and you all need to isolate until the PCR test is back.

RainbowTurd · 09/09/2021 23:06

Get a PCR test for all 3 of you

Treaclespongeandcustard · 09/09/2021 23:06

Yes!!!

JanglyBeads · 09/09/2021 23:32

As you’re unvaccinated, yes you have to isolate.

StillThinkOfUZac · 09/09/2021 23:35

Ok thank you.
Just wasn't sure because I thought the guidelines had changed to only the person testing positive isolating and those in close contact dont anymore.

That's only if close contacts are vaccinated or under 18. If you are over 18 and unvaccinated then you need to isolate if someone in your household has symptoms and hasn't had the results of their PCR or if they get a positive PCR result.
Marcee · 09/09/2021 23:38

Yes as none of you are jabbed.
You all have to isolate until the results are back.

And then if positive, you all have to isolate for 10 days.
If you were all double jabbed you wouldn't have to isolate while awaiting the results. If positive only your husband would need to isolate. You wouldn't.

noblegiraffe · 09/09/2021 23:38

That’s only for close contacts who are under 18 or double vaccinated. If you are a non-double-vaccinated adult close contact, you have to isolate as per the old guidelines.

StillThinkOfUZac · 09/09/2021 23:41

I dont suppose you know where I can find this in official guidelines. My workplace are not the most nicest when it comes to taking time off.
OP posts:
lawofdistraction · 09/09/2021 23:46

If your workplace aren't the nicest about time off then why on earth haven't you got vaccinated?

Chunkymenrock · 09/09/2021 23:48

Op, the coronavirus section on gov uk website is always the place to go for official information.

StillThinkOfUZac · 10/09/2021 00:02

@Chunkymenrock

Thank you

@lawofdistraction

Probably because they had an issue with me taking time off during work hours to do it

OP posts:
stripedbananas · 10/09/2021 00:07

On the Gov website it states you have to self isolate if unvaccinated or over 18 if you're living with someone who has tested positive.

ACloseMatch · 10/09/2021 00:08

All the vaccination centres I am aware and f are open extended hours. You need to isolate and PCR now, then get yourselves vaccinated ffs.

lawofdistraction · 10/09/2021 00:08

That's a shame, most workplaces are keen for their staff to be vaccinated. Does your OP work at the same place?

Myotherusernameisshy · 10/09/2021 00:09

That's a pretty poor excuse when the vaccine has been available at so many sites 7 days a week for months.

StillThinkOfUZac · 10/09/2021 00:25

@lawofdistraction

No we work in two diffrent places. OH works 3 jobs and I work in a school, they have been incredibly unsupportive considering a lot staff were working throughout lockdown at school.

OP posts:
lawofdistraction · 10/09/2021 00:33

I would have thought working in a school would be one of the easiest jobs from which to find time to get vaccinated. Evenings, weekends, 6 week summer holidays...unfortunately you will now need to do the 10 days isolation yourself.

toomuchlaundry · 10/09/2021 00:36

Why didn’t you get jabbed in the summer holidays?

Suzi888 · 10/09/2021 00:36

Your husband should give your details to track and trace, they’ll tell you to isolate. I imagine there’s a good chance you’ll test positive soon.

lawofdistraction · 10/09/2021 00:37

Assuming their PCR is positive. If you go on to develop symptoms and test positive then the clock resets and your 10 days starts again.

StillThinkOfUZac · 10/09/2021 00:37

@Myotherusernameisshy
You do not know me or my life to judge me. There are many reasons a person may not have got around to doing it.

OP posts:
MrsEricBana · 10/09/2021 00:43

But you could have if you wanted to.
Yes you need to isolate till his PCR result is back and then for 10d if he tests positive.

stripedbananas · 10/09/2021 00:48

Go online and order PCR tests for all of you to do at home or book online to visit your nearest centre that does PCR tests
