DH positive do we all isolate?

ACupOfTeaSolvesEverything · 09/09/2021 07:13

DH has tested positive on a day 2 test. DS and I are negative. I am double jabbed and DS is 10.
Do we all isolate or just DH?

Which country?

ColettesEarrings · 09/09/2021 07:17

If you're in England, only dh isolates as positive. You and ds don't isolate at all as you're double jabbed or under 18.

LegendaryReady · 09/09/2021 07:18

In England you don't isolate but you do take a PCR test

lannistunut · 09/09/2021 07:20

In England you don't have to isolate, because the PM is stupid.

I would personally isolate as much as possible.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 09/09/2021 07:21

Legally no. I would.

AgnesNaismith · 09/09/2021 07:22

You don’t have to. But in the same situation currently and if we hadn’t isolated both dc would have taken Covid into school. They initially tested negative but by the end of the week were both positive.

Mindymomo · 09/09/2021 07:24

Only your DH has to isolate as he’s the only one who tested positive on PCR, not you as you are double jabbed and DS is under 18. Test and trace may contact you and DS in a couple of days and advice taking another PCR, but it’s advice only, not compulsory.

Ida3456 · 09/09/2021 07:24

Just DH needs to isolate

Same situation in our house at the moment.
Have been told my child will get unauthorised absence if they don’t go to school.

cactijones · 09/09/2021 07:26

I work in the NHS and we have to isolate if someone in our household gets it but no other jobs do as far as I'm aware

Soontobe60 · 09/09/2021 07:29

My dh tested positive, we both went for a PCR test, mine came back negative. I’m doing a home test daily before I go into work (teacher) as requested by my Headteacher. Thems the rules!

PieMistee · 09/09/2021 07:32

We're fucked aren't we. My mate had this scenario and before long all 4 of her kids had covid and her DP. But took 2 weeks to spread through them all.

ACupOfTeaSolvesEverything · 09/09/2021 07:42

Sorry England

Sod school I’m more concerned about being able to walk the dogs

Imnothereforthedrama · 09/09/2021 07:45

Like others only your dh but take a pcr test . I personally would isolate until results as I know people that have tested when another member in house has tested positive and they have been positive too . I would walk the dogs though as long as your not going via anywhere else .

ACupOfTeaSolvesEverything · 09/09/2021 07:50

We all did a Day 2 PCR on the same day. DS and I were negative but DH positive. Today is day 6 and we’ve only just got the results.

HipHopBanzai · 09/09/2021 08:01

You should both go and get another PCR test as a close contact of someone who has tested positive.

DH had covid recently. I tested negative on PCR. I did daily LFTs (negative) and continued to walk the dogs. I did all my shopping online, WFH and didn't have any contact with anyone else. I didn't catch it from him.

MRex · 09/09/2021 08:38

Walking the dogs is fine.
You and DS world get another test, you might have caught it by now.

MRex · 09/09/2021 08:38

world = should

PuppyMonkey · 09/09/2021 08:40

Well I’ve lost track of it all so much, I don’t even know what a Day 2 test is. Blush

ACupOfTeaSolvesEverything · 09/09/2021 10:18

No tests available, need to check back this evening apparently. How annoying.

OP posts:
ACupOfTeaSolvesEverything · 09/09/2021 10:19

I had a negative LFT this morning though

TenThousandSpoons · 09/09/2021 10:27

Test and Trace should ring your husband who would give you as close contacts. T&T then tell you to get PCR tests but then you don’t have to isolate as double jabbed/under 18. We are in the same situation and DS is going to school. We adults are choosing to isolate apart from the school run though.

Lovemusic33 · 09/09/2021 18:03

The rules seem crazy don’t they?
My dd1 tested positive today, she was unwell when she woke up this morning, didn’t think ‘covid’ but then more symptoms appeared so we did a lateral flow test which was positive.

I panicked and called dd2’s school asking if I would need to collect her and at the very least take her for a PCR test and they said ‘no’. She did a test at school this morning which was negative, I’ve not been told to get her a PCR or to test her daily which just seems crazy. Chances are she will get it and take it to school (a SEN school).

I don’t have to isolate as I am double jabbed but I got a PCR test whilst getting DD1’s done this afternoon and I will be staying at home.

I understand the stopping of bubbles and sending whole classes home but surely if someone in your home has it there’s a high chance the rest of the house will get it?

Dd is now staying in her room in hope we don’t get it (she’s a teen and lives in there anyway🤣).

If you were talking about going out to the pub - this perfectly legal but I guess there is an ethical dilemma side to it. Walking the dog however …
