Hi there. Tested PCR positive a few days ago despite being double jabbed. Took a LF that is still showing me as positive even though line is much lighter than when I first took a LFT.

I need to go abroad in a couple of weeks to see someone who is dying. I need a negative PCR to get into country. Do you know how long it takes to get a negative PCR after previously testing positive?

I'm sorry but you can show positive for up to 90 days post infection

Yes as PP said it can be up to 90 days unfortunately. Is proof of recent infection enough or do you absolutely need a PCR?

I know it can take up to 90 days to clear - that’s my problem. I was wondering if anyone had tried to get a PCR eg 4 weeks after and it came back clear. I need to go somewhere where I have to have a clear PCR test…

I'm the same for medical treatment. I tested positive on 28th august and I went today for a second test. Dreading it coming back positive

I should add I have heard of people getting a negative test in as little as 10 days, some a fortnight. Today was my first day out of isolation so very early days to be repeat testing
