Did you just resume life as normal after 10days or did you have to have a negative test?

Back to school, work as normal?
Presuming not that poorly.

You don't test again within 90 days of a positive test as it can give false results. Are you being asked for a negative test, that's not right.

Once the 10 days are up you carry on as normal as long as you are well enough to do so. Obviously if you are still unwell you don't go back to normal just because your time is up.

dementedpixie · 03/09/2021 17:16

No you shouldn't test again within 90 days of a positive test as it could still show as positive even if you are no longer contagious

As long as you haven't got a temperature and are feeling well you can get back to normal after 10 days

Waxonwaxoff0 · 03/09/2021 17:20

Yes, back to normal providing symptoms are gone, with the exception of cough or loss of smell and taste as these symptoms can linger for weeks. You aren't supposed to test again for 90 days. I have just had Covid.

I need a negative test to get on a plane!

Does it have to be a PCR?
More likely to get a negative with the LFT tests

Veuvelily · 03/09/2021 18:45

I have loads of nhs tests.
Is the result I get on one of them likely to be the same as a rapid antigen test?

Are you vaccinated? If so, you just need your vaccine pass to get on a plane?

If not, I’d speak to someone at the airline for help. I was tested weekly as part of a trial after I had covid in December. I continued to test positive for 9 weeks post illness. I had a very mild case of covid & no symptoms after 10 days.

Twilightstarbright · 03/09/2021 20:35

Why not do one of the nhs lateral flow tests and see if it’s negative?

Also you should get an nhs Covid pass from having Covid if you are in England?

Veuvelily · 03/09/2021 20:58

I need to get back to the uk, so need a test. I tested positive last week and my plan was to wait for clear lft test, then get an official one, but if it could take weeks that’s not a good plan. I don’t really want to pay out if it’s not going to be negative. And I need to change flights and don’t want to keep changing them.

The lft’s are getting more faint

What’s less likely to pick it up, antigen, pcr?

OP posts:
Twilightstarbright · 06/09/2021 06:08

Antigen is less sensitive.

Blackbird2020 · 06/09/2021 06:13

Go for the LFT (antigen) test. It’s accepted for entry to the U.K. (just make sure the test centre give you the written confirmation of the result in English).

Veuvelily · 08/09/2021 15:01

Negative fit to fly test!!
