Do I book a PCR test if 2 x Lateral flow negative ?

Dd, 14.
Mon, Tues looked like a head poss brewing but no temperature or cough.
(said 'hot/cold/sore throat': however has 'form' for this - also ASD).
Today said she had vomited at school (not witnessed but don't think she is lying). Brought home: done 2 x lateral flow tests both negative.

Do we need to do a PCR?
If so, should we isolate whilst we wait for results?
I'm double jabbed and elder sibling had 1st Pfizer jab today

Still strictly speaking she has no symptoms that meet the testing criteria, but tests are not in particularly short supply so it's originally be included to get one. As she's under 18 she won't need to isolate whilst waiting, and nor will you as double jabbed. Given that you're testing without symptoms, elder sibling doesn't have to isolate either, despite being single jabbed. Depending on how old sibling is, she may have to isolate if it comes back positive.

Thank you @ColettesEarrings (cool username!)
Elder sibling is 17 this month.
I looked at the Govt website but it said without symptoms we cant obtain a PCR test so I guess I'll have to wait. She certainly has something but hopefully not C19 (though I believe there are quite a few cases in their school now)

Meh, just say you've been informed she's a contact under the ' informed another way' option. You don't have to specify how.

Cornettoninja · 02/09/2021 16:30

Given there are cases in her school I would book one as a contact.

I had 3 negative lft but felt unwell, booked in for a PCR and it was positive. I would definitely recommend organising one.

Ok. Thanks. It does seem the right thing to do I just didn't want to take one from someone who might need it more.
The other thing is, where do I get one?
Live in arse end of nowhere (Scottish Borders) so expect no walk ins?
Post will take ages...

Are you actually in Scotland, or England? Rules are different in both. If England then
www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

is the one to use.

I'm in Scotland.
(sorry should have said at outset perhaps?)
